Hello group, I'm in desperate need of help. Here goes :
I have the following tables : CONTACTS (ContactID, FirstName,
LastName, Company, etc.), SHOWS (ShowID, ShowDescription) and
SHOWDETAILS (links the previous tables together so not to have a
many-to-many relationship -- has the ContactID and ShowID fields).
I have a main form with a couple of listboxes which are used for
querying the CONTACTS table. The results populate bound fields...

My problem is in a form/subform. On the main form I have an unbound listbox
named OptionsInPlan. In the OnCurrent event of the main form I set the value of
the listbox with the code:
Me!OptionsInPlan.Value = Me!OptionsInPlan.ItemData(0)
For some records there are no rows in the listbox.
I want to have the subform track the value of the listbox so I set the
LinkMaster property to OptionsInPlan and the LinkChild property to ElevationID....

I have subform which uses a SQL statement as the record source.
One of the criteria (ie. Part of the WHERE condition) is a column value from
a ListBox on the MainForm.
Two problems exist:
1. When the MainForm opens, I get a "Enter Parameter Value" window, asking
me to input
the value it should be getting from the ListBox. (I suppose this is fair
enough, as the ListBox hasn't been
created/populated yet!)

Hi All,
I have a listbox on a main form. When user double-clicks an item in
the list box, I move the selected values to a subform at the bottom of
the form. List box is not multiselect, and subform is continuous form.
This is a work-in-progress, but seems to be working ok.
On my subform I have a sequence number field. When user selects from
the listbox, and the values are moved to the subform, I need to
calculate the sequence...

I am planning to create a form (Issuance) where all the records of the subform will be selected from the listbox. The listbox is not part of the main and subform but will only be visible upon clicking of the "add" button from the subform. The default view of the subform is in continuous form so that all "products" selected in the listbox will go directly to the subform where the fields "quantity" and "price" will be filled up.
What codes do...

Hi everyone,
First a brief description of my form: I have a subform within a main form. In my subform, I have a listbox displaying address information by firm name. A user first has to select a firm name in a combo box above the list box. The listbox and the combo box join on firm name. The listbox records what address was selected in the address table by the way of an address id number. I set up a macro to requery the listbox when you...

Great thanks to all the helpful responses I've read! Recently using MS Access after a lengthy (7-10 years) away from the tool. I apologize for posting a question that for all intents & purposes appears to have been answered several times. Unfortunately, I've tried nearly a dozen approaches that seem to work for others on this board with similar (nearly identical in some cases) problems.
I would like to navigate through records on a subform...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
