Running queries in another db

Hi All,
In Access97 I have a database(Master Control), it has a form(MainMenu)
with four buttons on it. On the click event of each button on the
MainMenu form I want it to open another Access97 db and run several
queries in it then close that another db.
ex:
button1 - open db -> Cash, run 3 queries in it, then close it.
button2 - open db -> Credits, run four queries in it, close it.
etc.....

Can this be done? if so, what's the vba code....
thanks
bobh.

I can't seem to find a step-by-step guide to how to detect or continuously monitor for long-running queries that is suitable for a comparative SQL Server novice. I know that it is possible to monitor for such with other database products - can anyone enlighten me as to how this is done with SQL Server? Ideally, I'd like to snapshot running queries (preferably with query text) at a particular instant via a script, although any help to show...

Access tends to take over my machine when I run long queries. The queries in question are Append queries. Some of the jobs we're talking about run 45 minutes to an hour...so the loss in productivity is significant. When I pop TaskManager, it looks like it's only running 10-20% capacity - so I'm guessing the horsepower is there but other apps just aren't getting their shots at the CPU.

Hello all. I want to schedule an Access macro to run. The macro runs 3 make-table queries. The best way I thought to accomplish this is to create a shortcut, and then use the task scheduler to run that shortcut. I am working within a secure workgroup. Here is what my shortcut contains:

Hi all, we got here one database which has several linked tables, whereas the link points to several csv-files. Currently we also have 2 different queries using the linked tables. Now one of us is opening query 1 and the other one is trying to open query 2 after query 1 was opened. But opening query 2 (from a different computer) is not allowed and gives the following error message: "The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the...

Try this script to see what queries are taking over a second. To get some real output, you need a long-running query. Here's one (estimated to take over an hour): PRINT GETDATE() select count_big(*) from sys.objects s1, sys.objects s2, sys.objects s3, sys.objects s4, sys.objects s5 PRINT GETDATE()

I'm trying to create a running totals query in access 97. I have followed the directions on how to do it from Microsofts website article id 138911. I took their code they had and replaced it with my fields. When I try to run it I get #errors in my RunTot column. I'm kinda new to this. Not sure if maybe I mistyped something wrong or is there a better way to do this? I have pasted the code. Any help would be greatly appreciated....

My team at work uses Cognos to run multiple queries to pull in data. Then they take that data and import into Access and then usually run an Append Query to run a RND function to pull out a few samples for them to review the accounts. I was making a suggestion to my team that maybe if we only ran one Cognos query and pulled in all of the columns that everyone needs to pull samples for each of there tests that this would be better on the time...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
