unlock DB - to view table, forms design

Folks, I have Access db, but whenever I try to open it and view design
of tables, forms, etc, ie, when I double click on icon then instead of
opening it in MS Access it opens as application, first asking for
password then opens forms to enter or update data...

In folder there are two files:
ABCbase and
ABCbase_data

I want to open first file, but it has small lock sing on it, and, as I
said, it doesnt' want to open in Access database...

Is there any way to "unlock" it, so I can view forms and code behind
it?

Just a guess here, but the one with the small lock icon, might be an MDE
file, not an MDB file. If that is the case, you will not be able to view
the code.

In which case the VBA code is not retrievable. You can however unlock the
forms and reports so that you can make design changes (Acc 2000+) - read
this article:

When editing an ASP Table, Visual Studio does not allow me to edit it in Design View. This makes it harder to add elements, because I must add every element either by using Design View to create the element outside of the table and then using cut & paste in HTML View to move it to the desired location, or by manually typing the code in using HTML View. The first technique sometimes does not automatically update the list of elements...

Hi, I have had a lot of problems getting web pages, master pages and content pages to render in VS2005 design view the same as they would in Internet Explorer. I did a lot of looking on the internet for answers but didn't have much luck. Anyway I believe I have found the causes of the problems and thought I should share them in case any one else is feeling the pain and also to find out what other peoples opinions are, on whether these...

There exist some forms in my application which existed before I arrived. Many of these forms are such that when they are open, then the "design view" button in the toolbar at the top of the screen is unclickable, since the form is a dialog, and doesn't allow you to access anything behind it. In the majority of these situations it is possible to right click on the title bar of the form in the front, and you can access design view from there,...

Hi this is my first post on the forums. I haven't really developed before with Access 2003 so trouble shooting with this application is not my forte. The issue at hand is, created a star schema with all the IDs in one table for the eight tables I created in design view, the datatype for all the IDs is number in this Table. ID EventID ObsID RecID ActItemID LocID AssgnID ImpctID ProjID

I have a form that does not display correctly. frm1 opens frm2 via a command button. My three problems with frm2: 1. Displays in form view when called from the button. (should be datasheet view) 2. "Shortcut Menu" is set to "Yes", however I cannot right click in the form to go to design view. These properties are already set on frm2:

An A97 application that sometimes stays open for days at a time may have a form, report, table or query open in design view. What's the simplest code snippet that would determine whether any database object was currently open in design view?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
