DAP problem

I am relatively new to the world of Access databases and have been
working on creating a Data Access Page for our intranet. The DAP is
based on a parameter query that consists of a static table and a linked
table to an Oracle Database. I only have read-only access to the
Oracle Database. When I try to change fields in my DAP(that consist of
a combo box with Yes/No) I get the message that a Value couldn't be
saved into the Data source's field. Operation was cancelled. Discard
changed value?

When I originally setup the query I selected the static table to be the
updated table- that is where I want any changes to reside- so the
linked table should only be pulling information. I have created
another DAP using just the static table and it works like a charm- all
changes are updated in that table. It is just when I use this linked
table in conjunction with the static table that I receive this error.

I have read other posts and made sure that all properties were set
properly... it seems. I'm thinking the fact that I don't have
sufficient rights for the Oracle database (linked table) isn't helping
my cause. Please advise. Any help would be appreciated.

Without seeing your query, here's a guess.

You can change the format of the query to use Standard SQL syntax
instead of JET SQL syntax. E.g.:

Standard SQL UPDATE syntax:

UPDATE JET_table
SET column_a = (SELECT column_a FROM oracle_table
WHERE some_column = JET_table.some_ column
WHERE column_b = (SELECT column_b FROM oracle_table
WHERE some_column = JET_table.some_ column)

Usually some_column is an ID column common to both tables (the related
column).

I have a virtual function in a base class, which is then overwritten by a function of the same name in a publically derived class. All other similar functions (virtual in...
