I read an article by, by Mike Groh, in Access-VB-SQL Advisor Magazine,
Week 37 that concerns me quite a bit on distributing Access
Applications commercially.
First I need to describe a "commercial version" of my application that
I hope to distribute after completing all the beta testing:
A. It was developed using MS AccessXP Pro (developers edition),
B. It has a front end MyApplication.mdb and a MyAppBbackend_be.mde;
the front end is...

This is not a question, but I need a bit of advice.
I need to create a software solution for users in various countries.
Normally I would use Access 2000 and simply deliver the databases for
use. Unfortunately some of the users will not have Access installed on
their machines, and will not purchase it simply to use this software.
In the (bad) old days of using Access97, I would have simply sent the
databases together with the runtime...

Hi,
Here is my situation. Can anyone provide insight?
I have developed a database in Access 2002. I am planning to distribute it
as a split MDE (front) / MDB (back) to be used by the Access runtime and
also full-version. Some of the client workstations will have Access 2002
installed. Most of them will have the runtime installed.
However, I can't find the Office 2002 Developer Edition anywhere! Nobody has

Hi all,
I'm interested in getting the Access Developer's edition.
Here's my question: where do I go to get it? At Microsoft, there's a Access
2003 Developer's Extensions package, as well as some other packages with
mention the .Net framework. ($499 was the price tag on that, which was what I
was expecting for the Developer's edition of Access.)
Also, I have purchased a copy of Visual C# .Net Standard edition and I hope to

Our SOHO 2 person compay sells furniture (not programmers). In '98 we
paid $,$$$ for a VBA -Access '97 accounting application, including VBA
source code .... an huge investment for us then (and now!). The
application publisher went belly up years ago. Over time we've made a
number of VBA code changes (< 500 lines total). Now our CPA is urging
us to switch to Quickbooks Premier for Contractors at a cost of $,$$$
plus data entry. Argh, no...

Hi to all!
A customer of mine told me some days ago that her IT-people told her
ACCESS would not be such a good idea for continuing with our project,
because Access will not be continued in the future. I haven't heard of
this. Does anybody know more about it?
The IT-People usually prefer Oracle. If they really want to go in this
direction, could our Access-application (if continued) be used as a
front end with an Oracle back end? Does...

Hey folks!
Before I spend any money on Access 2003, is it co-habitable with Office XP?
Also, can I use the XP Developers Edition to package and deploy and Access
2003 project?
Thanks in advance!

When running my asp.net hosting service (asp.net without IIS), on server
2003 with IIS not installed, I get the following when trying to process a
request.
"System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL (aspnet_isapi.dll)."
Of course the dll is able to be found, it's still in the framework directory
and for grins I even put it in my service's local directory. This is apparantly
server 2003 not allowing asp.net to be run if IIS was not...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
