Automatic Links in PDfs created from Access

I have a very large (by my standards) Access database that I use to
produce a price list in PDF format. ie the reports are created in
Access then printed via Adobe Acrobat 6 Pro. Each report comprises 2
PDfs- The first has pictures of the products (up to 16 to a page) and
the second then has details of the various sizes and prices for each
product (separate page(s) for each product. Each product has a code
along the lines of 14.123. I use Acrobat to combine these into one
PDF prior to release.
All this is working fine. However I want people to be able to click
on a particular picture and be taken to the details of that product
automatically. While I can do this via linking, the manual process of
setting up each link is very laborious and must be redone every time
there is a change in prices. Is there a tool/technique anyone is
aware of that could automate this process
TIA
Steve

Someone raised the question of automatic code generation a few weeks back. And yes, we (CCPN) are using automatic Python code generation in a major way. Basically we are making data models in UML, and using automatic code generation to make Python APIs, XML I/O etc. (more below). We can be found at http://www.ccpn.ac.uk/index.html As a general point, automtic code generation would seem like a good idea in special cases where:

Does anyone have any ideas on how to do an automatic html form post using hidden fields without introducing client-side script nor using a server-side WebRequest by passing the information back up to the browser while the base href is still set to my site. The problem I was having with the server-side WebRequest is that the relative links of the site I am posting to break. I could work my way around it probably by adding a base ref in the...

Hello all. I'm looking for some opinions on using snapshot files or ..pdf for some reports. We are in the initial stages of creating some reports in access that will be pulled online through Cold Fusion. In the past, I have simply created reporting tables with routines that populated the tables overnight. I then use Cold Fusion to output the info online as I wanted it to look. I am in a shop now that wants to use either .pdfs or...

I have an Access 97 database that has a routine to generate a unique report as a PDF file and email it to one person, and loops about 300 times. Each instance through the loop uses a registry entry to pre-populate the desired filename for the PDF file it generates. The PDFs are generated, attached and emailed in the loop as they're intended. As it progresses, the focus tends to show the Acrobat window and the PDFs briefly appear as...

Hi there, I'm writing an app in which a punter buys some PDFs online. After purchasing said PDFs, they will be given a token (bless them Guids) to go to a download .ASPX page from which they can download the PDFs. I'm planning to use Forms Authentication to protect the .ASPX page which gives them the list of PDFs they can download (driven by the token, which will be their order number or similar). The page will also only allow 10...

Hi all I'm building a search page for documents and files on my server machine. The search results will be displayed in the form of links on a page. How can I make the user's computer open the appropriate application, whenever a use clicks on a link to access the file? For example, the link points to a . doc file, how can I make word open on the client machine and display the file? Thanks

I seem to recall reading about a feature so that you could apply different styles to different kinds of link. e.g. local and offsite or to automatically put a logo beside some domain links. I would like to add an icon to pdf links. I'm after something of the form a:link("*.pdf) { properties ... }

Hello, Linux RedHat AS4 running DB2 V8 FP11. I have followed the docs at http://tinyurl.com/qckrn and enabled automatic statistics collection. It has been 2 days since I updated my DB cfg and I don´t see any activity regarding auto runstats. Also, the field STATS_TIME from syscat.tables shows that all my table statistics were last collected in March. What am I missing here ? Is

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
