Combining data from separate databases

I have several databases, identical in structure but with different data. Is there an
esay way to combine all the data into one big database? There are six tables.

There are several factors to consider. First of all, are all the primary
keys different? If you're using autonumbers - probably not. If they are
different, then you could just create a new front end mdb and link all the
tables (it doesn't matter if they end in 1,2 etc.) and use append queries to
consolidate the data. Since there's only six tables, it's not worth the
time to create functions to do the work.

If you have autonumbers - or other duplicate primary key date - I would
create a new field on the original tables called "DatabaseNa me" or something
similar, change the autonumber to a long integer, and make the primary key
the new field and the autonumber. Then do the above process.

Hope this helps.

Hi. I'm currently working on a project which involves the creation of a web page which reports selected data to customers from two back-end systems. I use ASP script language on IIS, the server is MS SQL 2000. Now I'm struggling with combining two tables from the different databases. I'm sure it's simple enough, but I'm a little short on the SQL expertise. I've got two databases, db1 and db2, and then two tables, db1.t1 and

Hello All Database (Access) Guru's, I am a novice when it comes to databases and I know enough to get simple information for my needs. With that said, I was given an opportunity for improvement a database. heres the scenario or process that I am facing 1. A total of 3 text files are generated from the mainframe and save to a secure network share. In each text file only raw data

I would like to hear opinions on the tradeoffs of putting the tables, forms, and queries for several related datasets in separate databases vs one combined database. I am working on an application that will have a number of "subjects". The subjects have a number of commonalities, but are not identical. I am hoping that I will discover that the subjects fall into a few "types" and a common database structure can be used for each type. ...

Hi all, I have a distributed database environment. I need to bring all the data from the distributed centers into one central database. I have replicated all data from the different centers into their databases at the central location, I now need to be able to view the data as if it were in a single database. I have added a field that identifies the source of the data in all the different databases. I've tried replicating from the diffenrent...

Hello, Every so often, I'm asked to help people recover data from tables that were either dropped or where to much data was DELETEed. The complications related to restoring data are a problem. The SAS users are laughing because they can (to a certain extend) easily go back to an earlier SAS table by simply starting dsm. Of course, a flat file table is different than a relational table; but still, the trouble related to restoring DB2...

We have got 2 DB2-UDB databases (DB1 & DB2) running on separate instances( Inst1 & Inst2). DB1 has got Schema1 and DB2 has got Schema2. We would like to setup some kind of replication to replicate both Schema1 & Schema2 onto a 3 rd database (DB3) running on a 3 rd instance (Inst3). This is basically to separate out Data Reads (Reports module of the app) from the primary databases for performace reasons. Also, Some of the Reports join...

Greetings. Is it possible using HTML and CSS to represent a combining diacritical mark in a different style from the letter it modifies? For example, say I want to render Å‘ (Latin small letter o with a double acute accent), but with the o in black and the double acute accent in green. Are either of the following valid? 1. <span style="color: black;">o</span><span style="color: green;">&#x030B;</span>

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
