User sessions are listed in the LDB file. You can find information
online about how to query it.

sagekey.com has a program for about 400.00 I plan on purchasing it next
weekend.

They give you .ASP webpages to go with it to setup your own website for
the user to go activate their product based on the number of licenses
you authorize.

Check it out, seems pretty good. There is also peterssoftware. com but
they aren't setup as well as sagekey.com

Let me know what you do. Thanks

I can't really imagine how a Sagekey-install can help with the question of the OP.
I think the OP must go the route Tom indicated, or implement something like a 'Users'-table and log and count the users here.
But I think reading the ldb-file is the best option.

Sorry, I guess I read it long. He wants personnel to pay to use it
from his own network. I thought he wanted to limit the number of
licenses he had out there. The product I mentioned would have been
perfect for that.

OK,

Cool, I'll look at that module too. You might save me some money.

I am running CR 8.5 from a (large) SQL Server db. My aim is to use crystal enterprise so end users in our sales team can access reports on demand for a given date range and client so I am trying to keep contact with the database to a minimum. IE currently processign a report takes about 10 minutes and involves manually running stored procs in sql server to produce smaller, client specific temporary tables that CR can easily cope with. ...

I'm trying to investigate the maximum size of different variable types. I'm using INT as my starting variable for exploration. I know that the maximum number that the int variable can take is: 65,535. But i'm trying to write a program to test this, assuming I didn't know this number in advance. I came up with the following but have two questions. Maybe someone can help? using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Text;

I have a Back End database (split) that is on a smokin' hot machine (dual processor, 2 gig RAM, XP Pro SP2) and I'm getting an error that says the database (back end file) is "opened exclusively" by someone else. I looked at the number of sessions and noticed that when the number of sessions were at 10, any new user launching the front end would get the "exclusive" error message. There is no security in place and no login required.

Is there a "best practice" maximum number of controls that can be loaded on to a tab control before things start getting messy and sluggish? I'm asking for a "best practice" maximum number across all tabs and not the maximum number that is theoretically possible. I figure that trying to add lots of controls to lots of tabs must affect performance at some point. Any help is appreciated.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
