Hello,
I have researched old topics and have seen this problem
discussed but have not seen a complete solution.
I check the usage of spoolsv and its using zero CPU time. Then
I open a report in design view. I click on File-Page Set Up. Still no
spoolsv problem. The instant that I click Specific Printer, spoolsv
starts using 100% of the CPU time. The same thing occurs if I try to
work on a report design that already is pointed at a specific printer.
Of course, doing a warm boot, or some options under Services
will stop it but how does it start? How can I avoid this problem? I'm
pretty sure we are up to date with all Service Paks.
Thanks,
Hank Reed 2 1451
I had a problem with that about 9 months ago, and it turned out that a Windows
patch did fix it. I don't know if it could be the same cause for you or not.
I believe the bug fixed by the patch occurred when there were a large number
of printers availaible on the local network.

I should have mentioned in my original post that I am using Access
2000.
As I have continued to test this, the problem occurs much easier
than I thought. If I just print a report from Access that is
designated for a "Specific" printer, then spoolsv is off and running
using 100% of my CPU time.
I have seen a log of discussion here. Has anyone identified the
problem.
Thanks,
Hank Reed

I want to set a cookie and have it expire an hour after it's set. It's
looking like this is only possible for browsers which are in the same time
zone as my server??
In other words, if I set my cookie with:
setcookie('CookieName', $SomeValue, time()+3600, "/");

Hi guys,
Im about to build a script which will log visitor time spent on my website.
I got a few ideas about this, maybe checking visitors ip and storing that
info in db with time in and then using session vars to check time out ...
Anyone has any ideas about doing that kind of script?
Thank you!

am I doing this wrong:
print (time.time() / 60) / 60 #time.time has been running for many hours
if time.time() was (21600/60) then that would equal 360/60 which would
be 6, but I'm not getting 6 so I'm not doing the division right, any tips?

Today’s question involves two time text boxes each set to a different time
zone. Initially txtCurrentTime will be set to Pacific Time or system time.
This will change with system time as we travel across the country.
txtRaceTime will always be set to Central Time regardless of where we are in
the US.
At first I tried ‘Now() – “xx:xx:xx” but that produced an error. Anyway as
we approach the east coast the ‘minus’ would need to be a...

Hi,
We have recently tested upgrading our web service from sql 2000 to 2005 sp1. The upgrade went smoothly enough, however we now have the problem of the sqlserver.exe process taking 90-100 % of the processors time..
We have 6GB available and we are running the enterprise editions of Windows 2003 and SQL 2005.
Machine specs,
DL380 G2, 2 X 2.8 Ghz Zeon, 6GB ram, Raid 5, database partition of 140 GB, Log partition of 35 GB.
Db is 25...

I don't want to re-invent the wheel and am looking for a simple
implementation of a text viewer or RichTextBox in read only mode that
allows rapid file positioning within large data files without the time
consuming and memory hogging associated with loading the entire file.
Using the thumb to get close and then paging and scrolling to get
exact placement within the file. Perhaps with only a few pages of data
loaded into memory.
I...

In short, is there any way to know the very code that is currently
hogging the CPU?
I've written an application which continously GETting web pages using
HttpWebRequest's asynchronous methods (it only GETs responses
(BegingGetResponse,EndGetResponse), not reads the stream contents).
I've read articles about asynchronous request operations. I aborted
timed out requests based on the article. ( http://www.developerfusion.co.uk/show/4654/

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
