HI,
I would like to know if it is possible to create automatically a new
entry i´n a table who is in relation one to one to another one. I
would like that a new entry be created in table B when I create a new
entry in table A.
Table A and B have some common fields which are link one to one.
I know I can fill table B when I am in table A by clicking on the +
and filling the other fields but I would like to find a faster way,
automatic way. Every entry in table A must have a correspondant entry
in table B.
I am using Microsoft Access 2003.
Thanks.

I have to ask why you want to do this. It breas all the rules of
normalization. Ther should be no need to duplicate the data. IF you
really must do this, then I suggest using an append query. This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

I have a problem creating mySQL tables with PHP. I am making an app
where a user can create a project. Pressing "submit" on proj_form.php
goes to proj_add.php where a couple of things happen. The project's
meta information is put into a project table, mysql_insert_id() gets
the $proj_ID, and a table named that $proj_ID is created to hold all
of that project's tasks. Here is my code to create the table for a
project's tasks:

I have an existing database, and I need to add another table to it. The

In the existing table there is a serial number field, which is indexed
with no duplicates. In the new table there will be multiple entries
which must be related to the individual piece of equipment which is

What¹s the appropriate way to create records in related, subsidiary
tables when a record is created in a main table?
I¹m using Access 2000, and I have a main table called tblProject, and a
few other tables in one-to-one relationships with it (on the field
ProjectKey), called tblProjectAccounting, tblProjectSales, etc. (I
separated them to get around the limit of 255 fields, and to make
record-locking more flexible.)
My first thought...

I've seen plenty of articles on this topic but none of them have been
able to solve my problem.
I am working with an Access 97 database on an NT4.0 machine, which has
many Access reports.
I want my users to be able to select a report, click on a command
button on a form, which will then automatically create the report as a
pdf file and save it to the user's machine.
I am using Adobe Acrobat (5.0 I think) and have Adobe Distiller as a

Hi,
I'm scratching together an Access database. The development box is
Office 95, the deployment box Office 2003.
So anyways I am griping about forms and global variables. Say for
example I'm adding a customer. The Customer fields are mostly foreign
keys that refer to primary keys in other tables, left join instead of
junction tables at this point. So, when I want to add a customer
record, I also need to add records to the other...

Hi, first time posting to this group, but I have followed advice and
examples for several months, so thank you.
I work for a small telecommunications company. I have a simple Orders
database that has an Orders table to track a sales order, using
OrdersID as the PK. I have a related one-to-many table called
OrderDetails, with the OrdersID as a FK, which shows all the products
sold with that order. Then I have an Update table, in a...

Hello,
I am a newbye, and I'm trying to write a simple application.
I have five tables with three columns; all tables are identical; I need to
change some data in the first table and let VB updates the same data in all
other four tables in the right places.
I know it would be possible by using the ForeignKeyConstraint object. I have
created the tables using the DataSet Visual Tool and I know it doesn't
create any ForeignKeyConstraint obj....

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
