Can't open my database - linked tables

Hi.

I've been working on a database for a while now between my desktop and my
laptop. Each time I copy the files, I go into the Linked Table Manager and
update my path to my linked databases.
For some reason today, it won't open my first database at all citing that
the database path for one of the linked databases isn't valid.

What would cause this? Is there something I can check or do I need to wait
until I get back to my PC and recopy the files. I don't want to lose a day
if I don't have to.

Thanks.

Did you try repairing the backend database? Do that and then relink
manually. (Just import tables, link.)

I did repair everything. I couldn't link at all.
As it turns out, I was able to resolve this when I found an "unhide" option
under the Window menu. That made the db appear. I relinked and then my
forms showed up working and in order.
:-)
thank you.

Replication may be your answer.

Hi everybody- I inherited a database that somehow uses a bound combo box as a record selector. Let me give you some background. The form is based on data from 2 tables. The first table, Person, records info about a person. The second table, Case, records information about a person's case, almost like a human resources database. The primary key of the table, person, is his/ her social security number. The primary key of the other...

We have an Access database Sch_S.mdb in the shared driver S across the network. I have a copy of that database in my local driver C, named as Sch_C.mdb. As per users' request I added some check boxes in the main form of the database, and added some relevant subroutines in that form. Now I need to put the modified database Sch_C.mdb to the shared S driver. Since new data had been added to tables (say T1, T2) in Sch_S.mdb while I was...

Hello there. I have a question somewhat related to this topic, and I don't know where else to go. I hope somebody can help. I've created a database in access, that I'd like to share with less than 10 users. I'd like each user to see only some of the records in the database. So for example, if I have eight users in eight countries, I want each of them to only see information for their country. I was told that the easiest way to do...

Does anyone know if it is possible to close all objects in a database (tables, forms, queries etc.) using VBA code? I have not been able to find anything online to help me so far... My motivation for doing this is the following: I have two databases, call them A and B. - Database A is linked to a table in database B. - Database B is updated automatically using Windows Scheduler, on the hour. - If an object in Database A with a...

Morning all! :) I have a database with multiple linked tables. I have created a search form with one txt box, for entering search criteria, and a listbox for each of the tables to isplay the results from that table. These list boxes work well, but they are now cluttering the screen.

I'm not sure if the title of the thread is relevant but I think it explains my problem... This is going to be loooooong... Basically, I am working on altering/improving an existing database but have been asked to change something which I think requires a whole restructuring of the database (to be honest, the relationships and tables seem a bit weird/needless to me). I've never tried altering the structure of a database before so have a whole...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
