Thank you once again for any and all assistance. I'm building an application
that's getting quite bulky due to the number of forms, macros and procedures. I
was wondering if there's a way to use 1 (one) unbound form, if all the fields
are the same for multiple forms populating them with Queries?
I have a makeshif menu form with command buttons and I would like to eliminate
all the forms and replace them with one unbound form for three...

Hi. I want to sort the records on my form (using either a continuous form
or a
datasheet) by the unbound "description" column in a combo box on the form
(or in the datasheet.) Here's a rough text representation of what I'm
talking about
FORM
Item Number Description Category

Hello all,
I am converting an Axs 2.0 application to a2k (I know A2K is not the
most current version but Axs 2.0 support ended and A2K is supported in

The form is part of an access projcet (ADP) and runs against SQL
Server 2000.
I have an bound form in endless view which contains a header with a
combobox. This combobox is bound to an access query and shall allow to

Hi all,
To ease load on a network i close automatically form open
with a timer reset by user actions.
If the time is expired i go through the collections
of form and table and close all those that are open.
I choose this way to avoid putting code in each form, plus i can close all
open table if any

Greetings!
Still the same application (as previous posts). I worked on the app
while at work (don't tell my boss ... cause this is just for fun and not
work related) and the form was working, but now when I try to repeat the
code at home (for real) it won't work. I suspect that I haven't
replicated the logic and forms at home from what I remember that I did
while at work.
My subform is based on a table called "tblTrialClass" and it...

I'm developing an application for use within my company in Access 2003.
I'm new to '03, the application I did for my former employer was in
'97. The two applications have similar functionality (we're sales
offices, and I'm doing things such as associate directories, commission
calculations, order tracking, etc.). 2003 seems to have a few extra
features, but I seem to continually run in to oddities that seem like
they SHOULD work, but...

Hi all,
Unfortunately I am quite a novice with Access!! I've created a number
of data bases for my work however becuase my skills are limited to
really built in functionality and wizards my programs are not really
user friendly.
I have searched and searched and tried numerous times to get the
following right to no avail - and I think its really becuase of my
lack of understanding.

I have a form (Form1) which contains basic Project data and a subform listing the personnel assigned to the Project as a continuous form. Selecting a person on that project and clicking on a command button will open a new form (Form2).
Form2 has two subforms. Both are embedded in the main form. (Subform2 is NOT embedded in subform1.) Subform1 displays records as a continuous form based on the Primary ID of the main form and lists the...

Hi all,
I am a new Access user and just starting to get my head around some of the basic concepts, so please take it easy on me :) My company has been managing client records on excel, and I’m in the process of migrating the data over to Access 2007 (Windows XP), kind of learning as I go. I’ve managed to import the client records into a single table, and set up a “single view” form that streamlines how we input new client data. Now I’m...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
