I've never needed it before but now I do!
Does anyone know if you are able to perform a NOT Like search using Classic
ASP ADO?
i.e. myData.Filter = "Ref NOT LIKE '*1234*'"
by the way this doesn't work!! and neither does myData.Filter = "Ref <> LIKE
'*1234*'"

I find myself wishing I had a syntax "LIKE ANY (array)".
I don't see much value in the = ANY, = ALL, <> ANY, <> ALL syntax since
they're equivalent more or less to IN and NOT IN. But it could be neat if
other operators were supported.
As it turns out this isn't immediately relevant, it will only be relevant when
one day the database drivers use the binary FE protocol and support binding
arrays directly. Then I could pass an...

Hi,
Is there a way to do a "text" (rather than "binary") compareison with
the "like" operator, without changing the global "Option Compare"
setting? I don't want to risk breaking many, many lines of functional
code just to get one "like" operation to behave as I wish.
I want to check whether a single-character string is (a letter or
number, INCLUDING diacritical letters) or whether it is (something
else.)

Hi,
I'm a linguist and have a large self-built bilingual dictionary. I want to
turn it into a electronic dictionary, can anyone tell me how to start with
it? I've some knowledge in Java programming, but don't know how to write a
programme that allows you to search in the large e-file just like a GUI
interface e-dictionary.
any directions?

I have been messing with the above all afternoon.
I must just be thick
I am using an AccessDataSource
I have tried modifying the select but I can not find the right syntax
to concatenate the LIKE part of the test by surrounding my textbox
field value with a leading and closing %.

Please check for sanity and approve for posting at python-dev.
In Visual Basic there is the keyword "with" which allows an object-
name to be declared as governing the following statements. For

For some reason, Python's parser for "robots.txt" files
doesn't like Wikipedia's "robots.txt" file:
False
The Wikipedia robots.txt file passes robots.txt validation,
and it doesn't disallow unknown browsers. But the Python
parser doesn't see it that way. No matter what user agent or URL is
specified; for that robots.txt file, the only answer is "False".
It's failing in Python 2.4 on Windows and 2.5 on Fedora Core.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
