Visual Studio 2003 & .NET Applications

I have an Access 2000 database that I would like to make available over
our intranet and would like to upgrade it to .NET, as this is the way
our company is progressing. This database will be transferred to a MS
SQL cluster on our network.

I am wondering if there is an easy way to convert the forms and reports
already in Access into Visual Studio 2003, or whether I'll need to
redisgn the whole DB.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

TIA
Steph

Reports are easily migrated to SQL Server Reporting Services.
For forms, a complete rewrite is needed.

I am currently taking a college course in Visual Basic.Net and I am a beginner. I bought Visual Studio.Net 2003 to do my homework at home. I built my first project and e-mailed it to myself at school. When I tried to open it in the lab, I got a message saying I couldn't open it because it was created with a newer version. Evidently the lab is using Visual Studio.Net 2002. My professor doesn't just want the executable file, he wants...

The good news: Along with Python-2.4 comes really good news to Windows users. Yes, you now CAN build extension modules yourself using the SAME C++ compiler and linker Python is built with itself. Everything you need is available at no costs (except download hassle and installation time). Once your system is set up properly its just a matter of running 'python setup.py build'. No longer waiting for someone else to build binaries and a...

I originally had VB.Net standard installed on my computer. I have subsequently installed Visual Studio .Net 2002 on my computer. I have not uninstalled VB.Net. When I look in my Add/Remove programs - there are two entries - one for VB.Net and the other for Visual Studio .Net. Both entries are over 1 GB in size. My question is whether the VB.Net is redundant information

Hi, Can someone tell me if I could use Visual Studio 2005 (RTM) alongside Visual Studio .NET 2003? Also, can VS 2005 generate output targeting 1.1? I have code written for .NET 1.1 and therefore need to either A, have VS 2005 target 1.1 as well as 2.0, or B, keep 2003 for 1.1 and use 2005 for newer applications using .NET 2.0. Thank you in advance.

Hi All, I am a veteran C/C++ programmer (Unix background) and I want to get to speed with Visual Studio .Net I have legacy C/C++ code that I want to use in my application. However, I'm not sure how to call my native C++ functions from my C++ DLLs. The confusion is this: I currently have Visual Studio 2003 it is not clear whether I should use managed extensions or C++/Interop?

I recently upgraded to from Visual Studio .NET 2003 to Visual Studio .NET 2005. In Visual Studio .NET 2003 when I would select 'Build' it would add a *.dll with the name of the Project to a /bin/ folder in the same directory as the source code. However, in Visual Studio .NET 2005 when I selected 'Publish Web Site' and selected a target location to place it in, it placed the following files in it: All *.aspx files All *.html files

We are exploring doing some development with MS Visual Studio 2005 to access our DB2 UDB for Windows databases. Are there any other options to accessing DB2 with Visual Studio that may be more robust than ODBC?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
