Access database comparator tools

Anyone have experience with either of these datbase compare tools?

ComparWiz2003 - $49 license
http://www.softwareaddins.com/CompareWiz.htm
Klik ComparLib v1.2 $199 license
http://www.kliksoft.com/?S=2&SS=10
http://www.planet-source-code.com/URLSEO/vb/scripts/ShowCode!asp/txtCodeId!50013/lngWid!1/anyname.htm

Comparwiz2003 does several object types while Comparlib is more limited.
However Comparlib generates a script you can run to update the
arttibutes of an Access database tables to match those of a comparison
database.

Thanks Tony. I cam across that list in my research. I ended up
building some code to compare the table fields, which was my key
concern. A little work, lots of internet searches and reading and $0
out-of-pocket.

And now you have another tool sitting in your toolchest and a better knowledge of how
Access works.

While thunbing through _C++ Templates, The Complete Guide_ (reckon I aught to read it?) I came across a discussion of using templates to "unroll" loops. I thought that looked like a good idea, so I decided to try it on some code I'm writing. The idea is to use template objects to perform what happens in traditional nested for() loops. for(int row = 0; row < num_rows; row++) { for(int col = 0; col < num_cols; col++) {

I am a newcomer to databases and am not sure which DBMS to use. I have a very simplified knowledge of databases overall. I would very much appreciate a (simplifed) message explaining the advantages and disadvantages of both programs. Many Thanks Simon

How do I create a data input form in Access that is external to the Access database to which it's connected (if that's possible, which I believe it is)? For example, if someone clicks on an Access file icon on a computer desktop, it will open up a data entry form (that was created in Access). That way, the people who enter the data won't have direct access to the database at any point. I've seen that this can be done, but I don't know...

Hi, I am mildly familiar with ms access developement and I have been asked to port and document a ms access app. I expect the porting (97 to XP) to be fairly straightforward. However documenting it is another matter. How do you people document your access apps? Just create an ERD and have comments in the vba code? List all the forms and it's purpose ? Are there any methodologies / best practices / examples I can look at? thanks in...

Hi: I am URGENTLY in need of some book or web site OR tool that will help me integrate a relatively simple access application into a web page or pages. This is a time recording system (by project), and I would be more than wiling to pull the updated database down from the Host using FTP on a monthly basis. Its just that I need to understand how to set it up on the web site itself. The Host supports SQL. Any direction you can give would...

Some time a ago, on this newsgroup the following comments were made in recommending good references for Access (2003) >I used to recommend Dr. Rick Dobson's, "Programming Access <version>" for >people moving from power user to developer, but now I suggest you browse >it, >too. As I understand it, to distribute a runtime version of Access 2003 with my app I need to spend £600 on "Visual Studio Tools for Office System package" which contains the RT plus a load of stuff I do not want. Or.... I can supply the client with a copy of "AccessRT.msi" which is on my Office 2003 pro CD and not tell anyone! Who is being more unscrupulous, me or Microsoft? Surely Microsoft forcing me

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
