Hi,
I`m writing a wizard that very much resembles the Excel Text Import
Wizard. So far so good but I have been unable to find a control to
reproduce the step where the user picks the boundries of a fixed width
text file. The file will be displayed in a fixed-width font, the user
can insert a dividing line by clicking, remove by double clicking and
move by dragging. The lines must move as a file with wide lines is
scrolled. I must be...

Greetings
When I use the import text wizard with a fixed width text file, I add
a break at the correct column but it doesn't line up with the text. It
seems that the display is shown in a non-proportional font.
When I look at the text file in notepad it's all nicely lined up but
in the wizard it's all over the place.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Access 2K, SP3 on Windows 2K, SP4
All,
I have an import spec set up with quoted Identifiers and comma-separated
values. The text file is produced by a 3rd-party program of which I have no
control. It outputs all text fields surrounded by quotes, and all numeric
fields w/o quotes. All fields are separated with commas.
This has been working for 2 years, until today, when one of the data fields

Has anyone had this problem where using the Text Import Wizard in
Access 2002 Service Pack 3 does not allow you to change the field
names for any field except the first one? If so, is there a possible
fix? On machines with SP2, it seems to work fine. Same data/database.

We have new PCs with XP, but have installed Access 97 for reasons of
backwards compatibility.
When Access 97 was installed on NT, the Import Text Wizard used to
allow the user to highlight each field and change the data type that it
was to be imported as.
Now, when you highlight each field, you only see the data type for the
first field and cannot change the data type for any other fields. What
could be causing this bug, and is there...

For those who are missing the feature on how to import into Open Office
dBase app from text files and spreadsheets in OOO Base 2.0:
A wizard exists to import from spreadsheets only at this time but there
is no menu pick for `importing` at this time.
OOO 2.0 dBase Import SOP:
1) Open the spreadsheet -or- text file as a spreadsheet
2) Select range on spreadsheet you wish to import including title rows
if applicable

I know you guys are heavy duty coders, while I do ad-hoc analysis, and
rarely write code. And, I may be in the wrong groups because this is
about an install issue, and I don't think it's a code issue. But ...
Office 2000 was on this machine when it was given to me. I don't own
it. After installing Office 97, mine, in a different directory, and
checking most of it out, I uninstalled Office 2000.
Well, it's a lot easier to upgrade than...

Hi all,
I'm trying to use code to start the text/spreadsheet import wizard
because my file will change all the time and so I can't define a spec
for it - I want the user to define everything. So, my code is:
CommandBars("Menu Bar"). _
Controls("File"). _
Controls("Get External Data"). _
Controls("Import..."). _

I have 2 problems:
1. I want to import a single text file into an access table using a
Macro. I am however getting an error that I need to put a
specification name argument. What does this mean? It also suggests
that I add a schema.ini in the source folder. What does this .ini do
and how do I create and use it?
2. After this is resolved, I would like to be able to import several
text files using a macro into the same table.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
