Updated or appended? *BIG* difference! Yes, saved a canned query
with fixed criteria. Turn it into an update or append query to suit
your needs. wrap the two in a transaction if you want... This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

Hello,
I have a user request to build a form in an Access database where the user
can check off specific fields to pull in a query. For example, let's say I
have 10 fields in a table. The user wants to be able to check off anywhere
between 1 and all 10 fields in a form and have it return a select query with
just the fields that were checked off. There are multiple users, so not all
users will be checking off the same fields. Some...

Hello grp!
i'm using INNODB tables which are using frequently .
if i fire a SELECT query which fetch major part of table it usually
take 10-20 seconds to complete.
in mean time if any UPDATE qry comes for a perticular row which is part
of SELECT qry i want to know that whether UPDATE will wait for
completing SELECT qry or not,
or it simply executing without bothering SELECT qry .

I am looking to update 3 of these 23 fields: Manager, email, and phone_num. 80% of these 25k have old data that needs to be updated in the Manager, email, and phone_num fields. I have used a MkTBL query to gather the updated data and place it into a table called out. My out table is...

Hello all,
So I'm knee deep in this import utility program, and am coming up with all
sorts of "gotcha's!".
1st off. On a "Find Duplicates Query", does anyone have a good solution for
renaming the duplicate records? My thinking was to take the results of the
duplicate query, and somehow have it number each line where there is a
duplicate (tried a groups query, but "count" won't work), then do an update
query to change the duplicate to...

Experts and books all say that you can share an Access back end on a
shared
drive with the front end running on each host computer. I have a
simple
database that tracks student data and it is shared between 4 staff
memebers.
Each staff computer has a copy of the front-end (linked tables, forms,
and
queries). They basically only use one form. The form works like this

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
