Access 2000 Combo Box is blank when form firsts loads

TD
This should be simple but I can't figure it out! I have a form bound to a
query. On this form is a combo box that is bound to the same query. When
the form loads the combo box is blank. If you click on the dropdown in the
combo box the records are there. What I want is that when the form loads
and before I click on the dropdown in the combo box I want it show the
information for the first record in the query.

Hope this makes since.

You can put code like this in your form's Load Event Procedure:
MyCombo=MyCombo .ItemData(0)

Greetings. I have a problem with a combo box incorrectly displaying blank items when returning to a form from a modal form. It's fine when the main form first comes up, but gets messed up when the main form is reactivated following opening and closing a modal form. Strangely, this was not a problem until I started using my Access 2000 db in Access 2003 (as an Access 2000 db). Details follow... I have an unbound combo box on my main form...

I have a customer that had developed an Access97 application to track their business information. The application grew significantly and they used the Upsizing Wizard to move the tables to SQL 2000. Of course there were no modifications made to the queries and they noticed significant performance issues. They recently upgraded the application to Access XP expecting the newer version to provide performance benefits and now queries take...

I have several combo boxes on form1 of my application. I do not know why, but the choices on my dropdownlist combo boxes no longer display when the form opens. They are there, because you can click and the choice loads into the box. After doing this once, the choices are visible. -- Mark Lancaster

I have created a form which sets up a dataview. The form views one record at a time using a currencymanager. This works fine. All my text boxes bind. However I have a combo box which gets its lookup values from another (Advertising) table (AdvertisingID, Advertising). This works .. However, where it doesn't work as well is when the form loads, the combo boxes should bind to the AdvertisingID field and display the respective data.

Hi everyone, Please let there be someone out there who can help. I have two BOUND combo boxes on a continuous form, the second being dependent on the first. I have no problem getting the second combo to change depending on what values the user selects in the first box, it's just that every time the user changes the first combobox, the second combobox FOR EVERY RECORD goes blank.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
