Including a link to a graphic

Hello all. I need to post a graphic but I understand that it is not allowed
in the newsgroups. I know how to upload a graphic to my website and how to
compose the link that will access it there. I don't know how to include that
link it in my post. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Jim.

Try just typing the address of the page... something like,
http://www.yoursite.com/images/imagename.jpg.... ought to do it.

Or if it is a more complex address than that, user your browser to open the
graphic and simply copy the URL from the address bar at the top of your
browser and paste it into your posted message. This makes sure there are no
typos.

2 Questions: 1.) Can anyone think of a way to speed up this function? It is terribly slow. I plan to reduce the number of directories to 3, which I guess will speed it up in the end. 2.) This seems to be the brute force method, and I'm wondering if anyone can think of a better strategy. I've been asked to make life easy on graphic designers by not making assumptions about where I might find the files that the software might need to...

Does anyone know of a way of doing this without uploading the image? Presumably it needs a rendering engine - is such a thing possible. Apologies if this has already been discussed - I was referred to this group from elsewhere, but a search for the topic has not unearthed anything. Cheers, Ian

I'm using a stylesheet to place a small 'background image' in the upper left corner of several pages. Is there a simple way of making that image a clickable link? Thanks.

I'm looking for opinions on ways to show visitors, your links will send them off-site (to another website). The following was suggested: Look at the three links under the third paragraph: http://www.countryrode.com/sales/vespaline.php Note the tooltip when hovering the graphic as well. Personally, I have not seen these. Are they really needed? Do users care they are being directed off your site?

I'm wrestling with CSS variations between Firefox and IE. I'm trying to create rollover buttons in a menu frame. It is working perfectly in Firefox but in IE only the first button is properly highlighted and linked. The second button, has only a partial "hit area" at the top of the image, although if you click the link, you can see the link border is properly place around the image. The rest of the buttons have no rolloever state or link...

I'm not sure if this can even be done, but what prompts the question is my desire to be able to create an "Uber Link" script/code of some sort, such that even if the html page contains nothing but a background image -or- a background color -- in other words, the page has neither content nor placed images -- any click, ANYWHERE, will launch the URL in your browser. I realize I can make traditional text links and graphics links; what I'm...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
