Access 2002 ADP slowness with Service Pack 2 and above?

Has anyone else experienced a dramatic slow down of performance with
their ADP's after upgrading to Service Pack 2 or above? The slowness
occurs exclusively when pulling data from SQL Server in the ADp. In
Query Analyzer, I can't duplicate the lags, and on machines running
SP1 performance continues to be good.

I'd like to keep the service packs in place, but performance is
unacceptable. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,
Nicole

I have an Access database that I have been using for over a year. My company just replaced my computer with a "New and Improved" computer, and they also installed Access 2002 ( I was using 2000). The problem that I am having is that the program crashes when it goes to run some of the VBA code that hasn't been changed and was working for the past year. Most of my VBA code has to do with DLookup. Is there some problem (other than speed)...

Morning All I have been developing and deploying with Office 2000 for about 3 years, mainly Access based programs and although I have gotten used to it's quirks, I am starting to feel that I should be switching to Office 2002 or maybe 2003 It would mean upgrading a lot of existing work, not to mention 3rd party tools that I have bought over the years. I'll switch if there are any real benefits but if it is just marginally better I'll...

Apologies in advance as I am SURE this has been asked 100 times - but I haven't got a simple answer: I have MS Office XP Developer and have created an installation package (with the runtime) for an Access 2002 database. The problem: when installing on a Windows XP machine, I get the following error: The Office System Pack cannot be installed on this system because it

We're using an Access2000 ADP with an SQL2000 back-end. Because SQL2000 was released after Access2000 you need to be running Access2000 SP1 (2 or 3) for it to work properly. Is there an easy way for the ADP to determine programatically wether the correct service pack is installed (or if they are using a newer version such as 2002/2003)? Ta.

I have created an install package with Access 2002 Developer. I am getting an error as follows... The Office System Pack cannot be installed on this system because it requires Windows NT Service pack 6 or later. I have researched this and there is a knowledgebase article 9837150 that describes exactly this problem but limits it to XP SP2 and Win 2003 Server (using MDAC 2.8)

Had VS .Net 2002 installed on W2k Server SP3 and supported a number of web sites. Installed VS .Net 2003 on Friday and now all web sites using .Net & MS ACCESS get this strange error upon open. We are running an Access 2000 MDB with a SQL 7 back end. Our network guy is upgrading to Windows Server 2003 and wants to upgrade Office and SQL Server at the same time. We're moving to SQL Server 2005, and, since he already has licenses for Office Pro 2002, he wants to upgrade to that. I've been saying that we need to upgrade to Access 2003, not 2002, even if Office is kept at 2002. We are also looking to do a fair amount of...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
