Hi,
I've got a simple DB (Office Win XP Professional).
Basically, it's like a check book register - deposit, deduction and running
sum.
I'd like to somehow link it to an Excel spreadsheet that will do the
calculations and then keep the data updated in the form
and report in the DB. Apparently this isn't done in Access because
the "cell" where you enter the data is actually a field. I have a tabular
form that looks just like a...

Hello all,
My code can successfully open, write to, format and save several
worksheets in a workbook then save it by a given name, close and quit excel.
My problem is that if I try and do it again, Excel hangs. OR if I open
Excel again (say from a desktop icon) before I close Access, Excel
hangs. (this has happened for both 97 & 2000 for me)
I of course thought that I mustn't be unloading a variable properly.

I am creating an Excel workbook using VB.NET, and have run into a
problem. Excel at times insists on reformatting data that I enter
into cells, e.g., converting "01234" to "1234", and this screws me
up when I need to read the data back. When I run into this problem
using Excel interactively I simply change the cell Number format
from "General" to "Text", but I haven't been able to figure out
how to do this using VB.NET. Here is a code...

I've searched this goup for an answer to this, there are many
discussions that come close but non that I can find that actually
addresses this particular problem.
I'm exporting queries to Excel. These queries have memo fields in them
Each memo field is trunkated, i.e cuts off after 255 characters.
Is there any way either via VBA or otherwise to get all my memo text to
export to Excel.
I note that there is no such limit when exporting...

I have a table (TblItems) with fields Lenght, Width and Height as
decimalfields. I also have the fields Desc, a text field.
In a form I have created this line of code after updating:
Desc = Lenght & " x " & Width & " x " & Height
If the values is 100, 100, 100 the result is 100 x 7920 x 100.
No matter what value I put into the width field It comes out with the
same 7920. Why??

Access 97
This error looks to me as secondary. In fact, it bugs when the
opening report tries to close a form. If I try to open the report
directly, I have a different message, stating that the import
specification name is not present. This because the report is based
on a query that includes a text file that uses that spec.
When opening the linked text files from the tables list, it works.
It is worth noting that the text file...

Hi,
I am very new to MS Access. I have inherited an existing app which was done in MS Access 2003. In this app, there is a report which contains a memo field. There are no formats, functions, unions, or anything. It is populated from a simple select. The problem is....when the user exports the report to excel, it seems to be truncating this memo field after 512 chars. After that, there appears funny chars that look like tiny squares.
Excel...

Hi...
I am exporting some data from a table with a memo field to excel but the excel report truncates the memo field data to 255 chars.

strPath = CurrentProject.Path & "\Adhoc_Report.xls"
'New workbook object
Dim sh As Workbook
DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputTable, "test2", acSpreadsheetTypeExcel9, strPath, 1

I have searched the web forums, and can't seem to find an answer to this particular problem I have.
In an excel sheet, cells in one column have formatted text in the "wrapped" cells. For many of the cells it is far more than 256 char.
After import to Access, the carriage return (CR) and Line Feed (LF) is shown with a square symbol in the text, and the text is just "dumped" into the field without CR or LF. Have also tried to indentify the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
