Calculate with Dates in a query with a one to many relation between tables

How to cope with query output which provides all possible values based
on a one to many relationship between two tables. I'm only interested
in one answer per primary key in the 'one' table. I've tryed to filter
out several values, but it does not work (because then also correct
answers are lost) or still 'double' or wrong answers appear. In the
many table, there are records which are not necessary for my query (or
calcultions), but they do result in an additional output record in the
query.

If your many table has 2 records that meet the criteria, you will have 2
records linking the one-to-many.

You can create a Totals query if you like or, when the query builder is
open, open the property sheet and set the values to Unique.

It appears you are not filtering the Many side correctly.

You might be better off to create a query to select records based on a
filter for the many side. Then create a query for the One side. Then
create a query to link these 2 queries together.

HI again: I have a query which selects records on tblPOmods on the basis of information on two other tables. I wish to delete the selected transactions, and am having a problem doing it. It tells me that if "could not delete from the specified tables". I have tried to set the "where" to "From" for the fields I selected, but the "From" wont take and bounces back to "where". I have tried other strategies, and got a comment "Identity table...

Hello, I have one main table and 2 many-to-many relation tables and 2 one-to-many relation table. Main table has 150 000 rows and many-to-many tables have about 300 000 rows. I am creating web portal. In my query I must call distinct with many-to-many relation. But this query is too slow for web application. This query costs 8,5 seconds. For example:

I created a person table with various fields such as Suffix, Salutation, etc, Some of these fields may not be mandatory for example suffix. In the actual table itself, I only have a field for suffix ID where 1=Phd, 2= MD. To display all of these to the user, I created a form with an underlying query. The problem I am encountering is this, when we have an empty field, for example where ID="", the query returns nothing. How do i work around...

Hi everyone, Have a query on how to calculate the amount of weeks and days contained in a number in an access query. ie: the difference in days between 2 dates amounts to 17 days. I want to now calculate in the query the amount of weeks and days within the 17 days to show 2 weeks 3 days. I can create the function within excel, (A1 as cell with the days within it) as: =INT(A1/7) & " Weeks, " & MOD(A1,7) & " days" but cant seem to...

IMHO, the following is not a how-to-do instruction to solve a particular problem but more a concept-proof stuff demonstrating possibilities of SQL. So, let us say the problem is to calculate business days count which is defined as count of days (optionally inclusive in the current implementation) excluding weekend days and holidays. Let us say periods to calculate are stored in table associated with contacts. keyPeriodID -...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
