Creating a "union" query between two tables?!

I usually design applications in SQL Server and Crystal Reports. I
now need to create a crystal report on an MS Access database.

I have two tables:

Services:
Date datetime
Entry text
Amount number
(should be 4 records)

Offerings:
Date datetime
Entry Text
Amount number
(should be 20 records)

In SQL Server, I would just create a union query and join the records
from Services and the records from Offerings to get one select
statement result with 24 records. For my Crystal report to work, I
don't want to have to make a table and then report off that table. I
would rather build a report on a query thereby making it dynamic.

I am fairly new to writing queries in Access and would like to know
how to do this in Access.

Thanks,

Tony

Create a new query.
Change it to SQL View (View menu).
Key in the UNION ALL statement.

Access can't show union queries graphically, but that doesn't mean you can't
write the sql the way you wish.

Dear experts, I have two tables in my Oracle 8i database: TEST (COL1,COl2,REC_NO) and TEST1 (COL1,COL2,REC_NO). Both tables are unique-indexed on (COL1,COL2,REC_NO). I think the following SQL commands will return the same result but one of my friends don't think so. He said "QUERY 1" will return 1 unsorted record (ROWNUM < 2 ) first then sort the result (ORDER BY COL1 ASC,

I have the following union query that works great, but I want to alter the query to only return True (-1) for the TEST column. Currently the test column DOES return 0 or -1. I just want the -1. How can I place logic in this without creating another query. Here is the union: SELECT AgencyCode as ContactTypeID, AgencyShortName as ContactName,

I've encountered a problem while using ADO to save query objects. Union queries created normally (via the interface) appear in adox catelog.procedures rather than catelog.views. This is reasonably well documented and I can live with it. The below seems to be the only way to add queries to a database using ADO: Set cmd = New ADODB.Command cmd.CommandType = adCmdText

I have a situation where I need to record scrap quantities for parts that we sell and parts that are supplied, in a single table. I have a UNION query that combines the part numbers successfully, allowing the user to select from a combo box without knowing whether the part is supplied or manufactured. I need to provide a DEFAULT value for cost (which, if changed later would not be wrong). To do this, I would like to pull the price from the...

Hello, I am running a Union query in Access 2003 that combines two other queries. When I run each query individually, they open fine with no problems. But when I try to run the Union query, I get the Overflow message. I have seen in other posts that the Overflow message usually comes up when a query operation provides a result that is too large to fit in the underlying field size. But if that were the case, wouldn't I get the Overflow...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
