Hi,
I have a form based on a table. When I filter the form I want to run a
report based on the same table with the same filter as the form. No problem
until I want to filter a combo box where the text value is on a different
table. The me.filter is then a text instead of the id-number from the lookup
table. This causes the report to prompt for the parameter.
How do I get by this problem? Do I need to create a temporary table? I
rather...

I am having problems with attempting to filter a form based on criteria
selected in a combo box from another form. I am attempting to have a
user select a order number from a combo box that is populated with
unique order numbers from the order table. Then I want them to click
on a command button that will use the combo box value (selected order
number) as the filter for the form that I have set up to edit the
order.
The code that I...

Hi all! My (relatively small) database holds data on staff members and
the projects (services) that they are assigned to.
In my form frmStaff, I have a list of staff members - it is a
continuous form. Each staff member is linked to a Service through a
many-to-many relationship, using a junction table called
jctStaffServices. I would like to place a Combo Box in frmStaff where
you can 'filter' staff by the Service (i.e. ServiceName)...

I am in the process of upgrading an Access database to SQL Server (and
climbing that learning curve!). The wizard happily upgraded all the tables
and I can link to them OK using ODBC.
The application controls allocation of revisions to aircraft maintenance
manuals for an airline type operation.
In the application there is a form loaded at start-up allowing the user/s to
select the records that they are currently interested in from 4...

Hi All,
I'm a newbie in terms of Access and some of its functionality . I've been stuck on this problem for a couple days, even after searching the Web, etc.
Currently I have five combo boxes (actually list boxes) that are multiselects in my main form. I need to use these combo boxes to filter a subform within my main form.
My combo boxes are as follows:
1. A - 4 select options
2. B - 10 select options
3. C - 4 select options

This is for informational purposes...I had a problem and I thought it
might help others in a similar situation. I hope someone, someday,
finds this idea useful. I've garnered so much knowledge from this
forum over the years, it's nice to present a solution that I couldn't
find here.
I have a form that my users wanted to filter, using the right-click
Filter By or Filter Excluding, etc.
I have a check box which my reports look up,...

MS Access 2003, Windows XP SP2, VBA
I have a continuous form that allows edits and filters, but not deletions or additions. I filter the form based on combining selections the user makes in several combo boxes on the form. The filter is updated whenever the user changes his/her selection.
My problem is when the user selects a filter option that is not present in the data. The filter works fine - no records are displayed; however, the...

I am doing the very standard thing of filtering the contents of one combo box based on another combo box. I've done it many times, but always on a main form. Now I'm trying to do it on a datasheet subform and it is not working. After making the selection in the first combo box, when I move to the second combo box, I get the Access input parameters box. If I input the value that is in the first combo box, I get the expected results in the second...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
