access 2003: annoying customize a shortcut menu issue

hi
i'm having a problem with the customize a shortcut menu. i read the ms
office assistance: customize a shortcut menu/delete a command or add
to a shortcut menu and followed the simple directions. i tried both
but for some reason i cannot delete the categories called "filter",
"form", etc. eventually i would like to add commands to the "custom"
category, ie commands "filter by form, "filter for:" and "filter by
excluding" options and group it under one category within custom
called "Research".

however, everytime i drag the category off of the menu, i have an "X"
instead of a "+" sign. and finally i cannot figure out where i can
rename the does this make any sense?? do i have something locked in my
shortcut menus that i cannot rename, add or delete the commands and
categories?

eventually i would like the shortcut menus to look like the following:

custom | research | commands: "filter by form, "filter for:" and
"filter by excluding"

if anyone knows why this has become a difficult task, any suggestions
would be appreciated.

thanks in advance!!! jung

Never customise a native Access menu: you don't have control
over these menu's. Instead, create a new shortcut (popup)
menu, and adjust the menu property of the form/report.

When you need to delete an item, drag it to the 'customise
menu' form, and drop it there. To add items, drag from
the 'customise menu' form to your menu. Also rename menu's
from this form.

While reading through the "shortcuts" topic in the help, I saw that there's a "Format Document" option - CTRL+K, CTRL+D. Cool... so I go into a .cs source file (this is a winforms project) and hit those keys. The status bar tells me "The key combination (Ctrl+k, Ctrl+D) is not a command." Weird... I then check the Edit menu->Advanced. Format Selection is there, but Format Document isn't. Ok, so I go into Customize... verify that the...

I'm trying to prevent any built-in command bars or menu bars from appearing in an Access MDE. I have the following code on the Form_Open event of the app's main form: CommandBars("Menu Bar").Enabled = False This works, but if a user has been using Access with a tool bar visible (Form/Report Formatting, for example) prior to opening my MDE, that tool bar is still

Trying to do a simple little form and do searches using the filter by form. Instead of clicking on the icon, I would prefer a keyboard shortcut to enable Filter by Form - can't find one - so tried assigning an access key to do so. Here's what I tried: - since alt-F will activate the File menu, I moved the ampersand in the name box (toolbars, customize, name box) to the l - typing alt-l while in the form does nothing - added a number...

I've been clicking around Access 2007 Beta 2 and can't see the custom menu bar designer. Is it in the beta? Maybe I'm blind. The question that comes to mind is: Will custom menu bars be the same height as they were in previous versions or will they be the "ribbon" style that takes up a huge portion of the screen? Also when I use Access 2007 to open an Access 2003 database that has custom menu bars they display as they did in Access...

I've been having a click around Access 2007 this afternoon and have discovered some things that range from annoying to alarming. My Access 2003 menu bars, which I, like many others, use extensively, are now hidden behind an "Add Ins" tab on the Ribbon. Hardly an intuitive place for a user to find them. Unless my memory is failing me, I'm sure that Access 2003 menus displayed normally in the 2007 Beta. The other thing I've discovered...

Office 2007 & thus Access has had it's menus replaced with the Ribbon Bar. It's very disconcerting. In Word, Excel, Access, I feel totally lost. Also all the shortcut Menu pulldowns don't work anymore ... eg Alt F-S to save a file Alt F-U for Page Setup in Word/Excel etc. etc.

I have 2 apps; one written in A97, the other in A2003. If I open an app in A97 then close it, then open Explorer and dbl-click on the A2003 mdb, I'm informed it's an unrecognized format. If I open an app in A2003 and close it, then dbl-click on the A2003 app in Explorer, it opens fine. Is there a way for opening an app in explorer to use the correct version of Access to open it?

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
