When I package my Microsoft Access 2002 application with the Office XP
Developer Packaging Wizard, and include the runtime, the resulting
OSP1.CAB file that is created does not contain the latest msjet40.dll
(SP8), but instead contains SP4. How can I upgrade the packaging
wizard to include the latest component service packs, such as msjet40
and MDAC?

We're writing an application in C# that needs to programmatically check if
Office XP is installed on the computer and, if so, what service pack level
is it at. Another application that we have requires a minimum of Office XP
SP3, so we need to check the service pack level and make sure it's at least
SP3.
Does anyone have any ideas on:
1. How to write C# code to check if Office XP exists on the computer?
2. How to write C# code to...

Hi,
I have a form containing a lot of various forms objects (about 120-150). It
takes about 10 minutes for the solution to load (only one project). If I
modify the corresponding .h file and return to the tab the IDE
become unresponsive to about 5-10 minutes again. For example, if I double
click on a label, the .h code window appears with the corresponding event
handling function for 'Click'. If I delete that function and then return to...

When running my asp.net hosting service (asp.net without IIS), on server
2003 with IIS not installed, I get the following when trying to process a
request.
"System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL (aspnet_isapi.dll)."
Of course the dll is able to be found, it's still in the framework directory
and for grins I even put it in my service's local directory. This is apparantly
server 2003 not allowing asp.net to be run if IIS was not...

I haven't seen anyone mention it here yet so I thought it would be worth
noting that MS has apparently released VS 2005 Service Pack 1. It's
available at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=BB4A75AB-E2D4-4C96-B39D-37BAF6B5B1DC&displaylang=en
A bit of a big download, but hopefully it will be worth it.

I have a question for Beth Melton.
Hello. This is Ray. I read an answer you graciously gave to another user about the constant popping up of "Windows Installer - Preparing to install". I cannot find anything to eliminate this headache and would be grateful for your insight and suggestions.
Many people suggest running something like Windows Install Clearner (not sure that's the correct name), but on the ms website about it, we are...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
