I'm fairly new to C# and I am having some problems
understanding int variables and null values.
I have created a class that populates the values of it's
fields from a DataReader in it's constructor. Those fields
are modified during various methods in the class. One
method updates the database with the values of the class
fields. I have everything working fine for string fields
but am running into problems with integers and null values.

Scenario:
This is about debugging server side scripts that make calls to
middle-tier business DLLs. The server side scripts are legacy ASP 3.0
pages, and the DLLs are managed DLLs converted/developed with VB.NET.
What I want from debugging is to be able to step into the methods in
the DLLs called from ASP scripts using Visual Studio .NET.
Background:
For typical script debugging issues, you can read and follow the two
documents on...

Hello there,
I'm having some problems setting the TextBox.Text Property in my code and
having it returned to the client in the source when the
TextBox.TextMode="Password".
I know this is generally not a good idea to fill it with the actual password
but I would like to put '*'s in it as place holders just so it looks like
the password is actually typed out in there.
Thanks,

in my app.config is below. I can not figure out how to access the two
settings. I need to be able to get the data out of the settings. And update
them at a later point as well. I have tried all sorts of things.

I think at various times we've all encountered this problem:
A subform is on a main form. From the code of the main form we refer
to some property of/control on the child form thus:
Me!subForm.Form!txtTextBox
and for some reason, in certain contexts, we get the error:
Error 2455: You entered an expression that has an invalid reference

I am using VC++ 6.0 (with SP5 installed). When using WinXP this is with SP2
installed.
I am developing an instrumentation system comprising a set of networked PCs
connected using TCP/IP TCP links. Communications on the Windows PCs use a
class derived from CAsyncSocket(). I have written client and server versions
of my software for use on the appropriate PCs.
I am also using communicating with a legacy DOS based system, with the

Hi,
I am developing a web service for a customer. The service has a method, that
returns an array of Forms. Each form has a Name property of Type String.
The customer wants the contract to specify, thath the name is mandatory and
not nullable. To reflect this, they want the xml in the wsdl (the Form part)
to look similar to this:
<xs:complexType name="Form">

I have worked with application settings in VS2005 and C# for awhile, but
usually with standard types. I have been trying to store a custom
container/class/type in an application setting and I have seen erratic
results. I am aware of one known defect where user classes do not show up in
the list of types on the Property/Settings page in the visual designer and I
am wondering if I am encountering some other peculiar issue, or if there are...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
