Access 20003 and 2003 compatability

If the front end of a database is in Access 2002 or 2003, can the backend be in
Access 2000 or does the backend have to be converted to a later version?

The back end can be Access 2000, or even Access 97.

You can develop in Access 2003, for A2002 users. If you use the A2000 file
format, you can use A2003 to develop for A2000 users. However, it is a good
idea to do the final compile using the lowest version your users will have.

You cannot create an Access 2000 MDE from Access 2002 or 2003.
If you create an MDE using A2003, you will not be able to install it using
the runtime version of A2002.

Hi All, Is there a backward compatability issue regarding to .Net 2002 and .Net 2003? I heard someone said that if you're developing in .Net 2003 and gave the entire project to someone who is developing using VS .Net 2002 and they can't open the solution file (.sln). Is there a solution to fix this problem. TIA

When I ordered my new laptop, Sony didn't offer Access 2003 in its bundles. Recently, I have begun to design Access databases using an copy of Access 2002 from my previous laptop. It works fine, but I would like to have all the office apps on the same version. So I have a few questions: 1) Is the file format the same as 2002? Can 2002 users read 2003 files? 2) What are the major reasons for upgrading to 2002 ?

If Access 20003 is installled on a computer witth Access 2000 runtime also installed can this cause problems? Have uninstalled the runtime application as a precaution, (however this was after the Access 2003 was installed), but still can't view any databases when using Access 2003. After selecting a database to open all that comes up is a blank screen with no database window. Thanks in advance Dawn Davis

A client has just successfully upgraded from Access 97 to 2000. I don't have Access 2000, but I do have Office XP. Can I successfully use my Access on their database? They kind of did this behind my back, and I'm responsible for the application maintenance...! Dick

Hi, The organisation I work for is on the verge of buying Microsoft Office 2007 Pro Plus OLP NL. We currently use Office Pro 2003. Our business system is written in Access 2003 with a SQL Server back end. I've heard that it's possible that the version of Office we are buying may have compatability issues with Access 2003. I find this hard to believe, but does anybody know anything about this? Thanks

Hi, I'm not 100% sure that this is an Access problem. A friend of mine has an Access 2003 database. Occasionally he brings a copy to me so that I can import some of his data into my Access 2003 database. For years he has done this with no problems by bringing his copy on a CD. However, last week he put his database onto a memory stick and brought it to me. When I try to open the database, I get the error "The Visual Basic for...

Hi Folks, I've produced an Access application that reads the users login name from their environmental settings and then acquires their full name and department from the "Startup" table, to display on their startup screen (Code shown below). While this works satisfactorily in Access 2002 on any windows platform, it falls down on Access 2003. When debugging I get , and have no idea why. The line Marked "***" is where the debugger pulls...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
