Create New Record In Different Form

Whenever a record is modified on frmMain, I want the
Event(AfterUpda te) to ADD a new record to frmRevisionHist ory and goto
this form. I also need to Set the FK_ID field of frmRevisionHist ory
to the PK_Fee of frmMain.

I know how to do this easily in FileMaker, but not Access.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
amy

Your best bet would be to use a subform and insert it into your main form.
You can use your frmRevisionHist ory. Make sure its Default View of your
main form is Sing Form. Open your main form in design view. and move it to
the side so the you can see the Object window. Select and drag the
frmRevisionHist ory to the detail section of your Main form. Open the
properties window and ensure the Link Master and Child fields are set to the
PK & FK of your tables. Now when you select a record on the main form the
records with matching FK in your subform will be displayed. When you add a
record to the subform it will automatically set the FK = to the PK of the
record you are on in the main form. No extra work needed on your part.
Hope it helps. Lookup "Subforms: What they are and how they work" in the
help file. Explains it better then I can.

I've been trying to do something for about 3 days – I get close, but not 100%. I am trying to: Open frmRevisionHistory from a button on frmFeeInput. If there is NO RELATED RECORD, then I need to create one in frmRevisionHistory, and pass the PK (PK_Fees) on frmFeeInput to FK_Fees on the 2nd form.

We send temps possessing various skills (cashier, cook, hostess, etc) to the individual units as needed. What I'm trying to do is create a schedule we can use each day, for example: Monday, June 1, 2004 Company A, unit e Alice...

Hi! I am trying to create data entry forms like MS access forms using asp.net. I am talking about a form like MS access forms which let you enter a new record, edit, navigate to previous and next record and display one record at a time. I am accessing the database. Right now it is MS access but will move it to the SQL sever. I am not too sure how to design the web form to accomplish this task. I can do insert, update(edit) and display...

I can search through the whole parent table but I also like to be able to search through the child table fields to find parent records. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
