Error when trying to download using ftp module

Hi all,

I am using
the Internet Data Transfer Library to ftp files to another server:
http://www.mvps.org/access/modules/mdl0037.htm
it works fine ftping to another server, but I cannot ftp from any server. I
get an error that says cannot transfer file from ftp server. It is a
runtime error and there are just a few references to it on google and no
replies. I followed the format on the site above.
Maybe it is because I can put this in any url:
ftp//theserver.com and get prompted for username and password,
but not ftp://theserver.com/thefiles/file.txt - it goes nowhere. What do
you think?

So I tried the dos ftp such as ftp -s:script.txt which works fine but I
cannot get the access code that uses the file I am trying to ftp to wait for
it. I tried a delay, I tried the timer, I tried doevents. Created a loop
that runs until a filename exists.. Nothing waits for this
Shell ("ftp -s:c:\getfile.tx t") to run.

So how can I wait for this file to finish. Thanks in advance

I realized I made a mistake with the timer, and I can delay it now, but if
you have a solution to the ftp problem using the data transfer libray, I
would be grateful.
The error is: Run-time error '-2147216504 (80043188)';
cannot start file transfer from 'server.com'.

I see in google, one or 2 others had the same problem but no replies.

Thanks in advance

Hello, Nothing relevant found on Google for this, so I'm asking here. I wrote a short script that launches several threads (parallel download using urllib.urlretrieve in this case). Sometimes when I launch my script under Cygwin, I get strange error messages like: 2 python 1912 Winmain: Cannot register window class Sometimes all of the threads run OK, otherwise after the "correct"

Please help I don't know if this is possible but what I would really like to do is to use On Error Goto to capture the code that is being executed when an error occurs. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi, I originally posted this as a reply to a rather old thread in dotnet.framework.general and didn't get any response. I thought it might be more relevant here; anyone got any ideas? Hi, I have a small Python script to fetch some pages from the internet. There are a lot of pages and I am looping through them and then downloading the page using urlretrieve() in the urllib module. The problem is that after 110 pages or so the script sort of hangs and then I get the following traceback: Traceback (most recent call last):

Before anything else, I am not a very technical expert when it comes to VBA coding. I learned most of what I know by the excellent Access/VBA forum from bytes.com (formerly thescripts.com). Ergo, I will be writing this article intended for those who are in the same level, or maybe lower, of my technical knowledge. I would be using layman's words, or maybe, my own words as how I understand them, hoping, you will understand it the same way that...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
