Hi i'm a newbie at this and probably always will be, so don't be surprised
if I don't know what i'm talking about.
but I don't understand why regex look-behinds (and look-aheads) have to be
fixed-width patterns.
i'm getting the impression that it's supposed to make searching
exponentially slower otherwise
but i just don't see how.

Would you know how to change the look of a mouse pointer on a web
page. On the page I have the mouse pointer is exactly as I have at
work.... white. But what I want to do is change the look of it so that
the people who visit the web page see a neon arrow (example) as
opposed to what they see now (which is the white arrow) Any Ideas? Its
driving me batty.
Many thanks

You know how the text in the attached label
sort of 'greys out' when you click something
that sets MyTextbox.Enabled = False?
I would like to make a label's text look like
that? How do I do it? It look sort-a-like sunken
text or shadowed - I don't know what.

Hi all,
I have an application, designed in Visual Studio 2005, which will run
mainly on Windows XP computers.
If I run the application on a Windows XP computer having the Windows XP
Theme selected the controls look nice rounded, etc. just like in Windows

But if I run the application on a Windows XP computer having the Windows

Hi,
all the installers that i create with VS2005 (with deployement projects)
have a
flat look and feel under windows XP (flat rectangle buttons). Even the
installers created with VS2003 (and which have a correct appearance) have a
flat look once updated with VS2005.
Someone have an idea?

For use in a hand-coded parser I wrote the following simple
iterator with look-ahead. I haven't thought too deeply about what
peek ought to return when the iterator is exhausted. Suggestions
are respectfully requested. As it is, you can't be sure what a
peek() =None signifies until the next iteration unless you
don't expect None in your sequence.
Using itertools.tee is the alternative I thought about, but
caveates in the documentation...

I am now trying to host a WPF control into a MFC application and get the Aero
glass look on the WPF control. (Something like what Office2007 is doing to
its ribbon)
What should be the container of the WPF control so that I can get Aero Glass
look?
I tried with a System.Windows.Window, I got the Aero Glass look. But it
seems that a Window must be the root element and can not be hosted in the MFC
window.
I also tried to use a...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
