combo box conversion problem

Hi folks.

I am using Access 97. I have a form, frmHistory, which has 2 combo
boxes (cboSelectTitle and cboSelectName) and 2 text boxes (Title and
MemName). When the form is opened, it displays all the (dummy) history
of books borrowed by members. Both the combo boxes uses macros, with
the following actions.

cboSelectTitle:
OpenForm: Form Name: frmHistory
Where: [Title]=[Forms]![frmHistory]![cboSelectTitle]

cboSelectName:
OpenForm: Form Name: frmHistory
Where: [MemName]=[Forms]![frmHistory]![cboSelectName]

What it does is that the user can choose a name or title from the
respective combo box and the form will be filtered to diplay records
pertaining to the user's choice. For example, if the user chooses the
name "aravind" from the combo box cboSelectName, the form (frmHistory)
will display all records where MemName = 'aravind'. The problem is
that, while this works perfectly in Access 97, it doesn't seem to work
when I convert it to Access 2000, i.e. when I choose "aravind", it
diplays aravind's records, but when I then choose "frankie", it still
displays aravind's records. So what went wrong? Also, the combo boxes
uses a macro action (SendKeys: Keystrokes: %{Down}), which makes the
combo box displays its contents when it gets focus. The thing is,
should I assign it to the OnGotFocus event or the OnEnter event? What
is the difference between the 2? Thank you.

Hi everyone, Please let there be someone out there who can help. I have two BOUND combo boxes on a continuous form, the second being dependent on the first. I have no problem getting the second combo to change depending on what values the user selects in the first box, it's just that every time the user changes the first combobox, the second combobox FOR EVERY RECORD goes blank.

I wasn't sure how to search for previous posts about this, it felt real specific. Ok so here's the database & problem: I have 4 combo boxes: cboServer, cboPolicy, cboDB, and cboApplication. The idea behind the database is for a user to search/ select desired information in any kind of combination between the 4 combo boxes. Then the user clicks a button (btnSearch) and subsequently a query ("Search Function") is run that shows all 4...

Hi, I decided to install Office 2003 Service Pack 3 on my home computer to test (in full knowledge that there may be some issues with it). After installation, I have noticed that with a small database I wrote for home, the combo boxes and listboxes no longer display the bound column. For example, on a form I have a combo box based on a table called 'names'. The two columns in the combo box are ID and Surname. The combo box and list box...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
