That all depends on how secure you want to be.

A sceme that stops most adventurers, but nor necessarily the NSA
(USA's National Security Agency - credited with having a formidable
code cracking department), is to have the application generate a key,
which they call in to your license department, to - upon verification
of payment - receive a second key (generated by a private app you
don't share with anyone) to unlock the app for a certain amount of
time.

I've implemented this more than once, and we yet have to uncover a
violation of the license agreement.

Hi All! I know there has been a post about Python licencing but I have different questions. I tried to Google for "Python Licence" and "Python Licencing" but I could not find the answer. Is there a place where I can ready about Python licencing? (A FAQ maybe?) I really need to know the details of the licence, but not in the lawyer's language. Just simple questions: - How put a software under the Python licence?

I just installed VB.net 2003, upgrading from VB6. I tried to open a new ASP.net Web Application and immediately got an error stating that my Web Server isn't running ASP.net version 1.1. I tried running aspnet_regiis /i and all the dotnetfix "framework repair" suggestions the Help link sent me to, but no luck. I suspect I am not the first guy with this problem. I am running IIS on a Windows XP system. Can anybody direct me to a site...

we have some Python code we're planning to GPL. However, bits of it were cut&pasted from some wxPython-licenced code to use as a starting point for implementation. It is possible that some fragments of this code remains unchanged at the end. How should we refer to this in terms of copyright statements and bundled Licence files? Is there, say, a standard wording to be appended to the GPL header in each source file? Does the original...

I "accept" and continue with what I want to do. I don't use the laptop too often, but it does not seem to be asking me to register and never denies me access - just forces me through this annoying step. What is it and how can I stop it from...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
