Trying to get some ideas on a simple javascript project (to teach myself the
language).
I want to develop a client-side vocabulary practice application that would
allow users to
enter their own words, their own definitions plus an example of how the word
is
used in practice. It'll be all client side with - cookies? to get
persistence so that the words won't
disappear on me each time the page is closed (which is what happened when I

I used the .NET forms application wizard. From the form youclick a button and it calls a C++ function through its dll. This function is supposed to pop-up a command prompt window. Something about using this forms application wizard prevents thewindow from opening. The program otherwise runs correctly. Inoticed that the wizard gave me a main with the notation:
int APIENTRY main(HINSTANCE hInstance,
HINSTANCE hPrevInstance,
LPTSTR ...

A process presents frmSecond for user entry; user closes when done.
Code for opening the form is
DoCmd.OpenForm "frmSecond", acNormal, , strWHERE, , acDialog
Problem: frmSecond does not remain on the screen. Instead, it shows again
after the process calling it has completed.
Can anyone tell me what might be causing it to "hide" itself until the
process completes?

I've used the DoCmd.Mazimize function on my databases main opening form and
now all the forms maximize on open, not just the form the command has been
placed in. (onOpen)
Any ideas why or how I can stop the other forms opening maximized
Cheers all.

VB2005
I have an MDI application, which displays modal forms correctly, and starts
up with the MDI form maximized
however for non modal forms behavious is unusual
all forms have MaximizeBox, Minimizebox and ControlBox set to false
and WindowState = Maximized
when the form displays it displays with the same size as in the Form Designer

Hi
When I maximize a form in VB.Net 2003 the bottom of the form gets
hidden
by the start bar (so my status bar is invisible). How can I get my app
to maximize to the usable screen area above the start bar?
Thx Mrozu

Hello. I was hoping that someone may be able to assist with an issue
that I am experiencing. I have created an Access DB which imports an
Excel File with a particular layout and field naming. Next the user
can go into a Form which basically a dynamic query with a friendly
interface that eventually outputs a table that is stored in the DB as
well as exported to a CSV file. The CSV file is then used with a
vendor solution to fill in...

If IsNull(Me!NotExpectingGreenTickets) Then
DoCmd.CancelEvent
Exit Sub
End If
End Sub

I give my user a button to change the properties of the size property of
maximize screen size. How can I programmatically cause the maximize screen
function to happen after changing the property so the new max screen property
will be realized? Right now I have to tell the user to unmaximize the screen
and remaximize the screen to have the property take effect. :o(
Thanks!

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
