Hi,
I'm now working with Access 2000 (English) and I'm searching for an option
which I can't find. I used to work with Acces 97 (Dutch) and there was a
possibility to record a macro. I used this to load a textfile into a table.
You had to follow all the steps once and then they were recorded by Access.
The next time you could play this sequence of commands.
I searched in Access 2000 but couldn't find the option. Probably also due to
the language. Can anyone help me?

I'm not a 100% sure, but I don't think there is one. At least I haven't been
able to find one browsing through all my books and searching the Internet.

I think you're mistaken you can record macros in Excel, Word etc, but I've
never known a version of Access in which you could record macros.

No, but you can create macros then covert them into code.
OR
You can use the various control wizards to get code ideas started.

well, superficially yes, but not necessarily..
I was hoping that perhaps this is what the original poster might have meant
and had been confused about what he thought he had did in the past. The
sbit about transfering text hit a note of familiarity. Doing the macro first
which is akin to basically selecting different options in the macro (not
recording exactly - but going through the motions) and then converting it to
code.

In Access 95/97 I used to be able to create pull down menus (File,Edit
...) from a macro. It seems there used to be some wizard for that.
However in Access 2000 it seems you have to build your menus by
customizing a toolbar. With this method you have to create a separate
