3rd and 4th combo boxes don't pull the correct data

I'm having a probem with my 3rd and 4th boxes not showing the correct
data to pick. My database is normalized and I have Me! statements for
each combo box in the After Update but something is quirky about it.
Also I have a subform that is supposed to show the results and it does
for the first 2 but not for the 3rd and 4th. I'm not using the child
link method, it's in the code for that too. Any ideas what might be
wrong?

The AfterUpdate event of each combo box should .Requery the next ComboBox in
the "hierarchy" , and each should include the value of the previous Combo in
its RowSource as a criteria. As to the Subform, without seeing the code, we
couldn't guess what might be wrong with it (if anything). We'd also need to
know where that code is located. It would be interesting to understand why
you did not use LinkMasterField s and LinkChildFields (note that both are
plural, so can refer to more than one field or control on the main form, and
that's usually the easiest and most reliable way -- you will also need to
Requery the Subform Control after setting the last of the Combo Boxes).

The XML Schema design problem to solve is as follows: We have 2 combo boxes to populate from schema data, let's say: 1. States 2. Cities (and this one gets populated depending on the choice of the state) The event management is no problem, the question is, how do we build our XML Schema (that's going to contain the data for both states and

Hi Gang, I was wondering if a generous person might be able to walk me through what I believe is a pretty simple task. I actually have significant Access experience, but I haven't done it in about 3 years and I'm more rusty than I thought I was. Anyway, in a nutshell: The scenario: 2 combo boxes (comboLastName and comboStateorProvince) on a form with 30 text boxes, the form's recordsource has been set to a query, both combo boxes and...

I'm using Access 2000. I currently have a report being generated using the results of a query by form. The form used for this query is an unbound form, frmListDialog. frmListDialog contains two unbound text boxes, txtExamTitle and txtExamNumber. The user enters either the exam title in txtExamTitle or the exam number in txtExamNumber as a parameter for the query. This is currently working fine, however because the exam titles are...

Would appreciate any help I could get I have an unbound search form with various text boxes on it for searching my database. I would like to have a combo box on the search form where the source is a field in the table I'm trying to search. The form works great except for the combo box. I pull the data from my table (storing the value rather than the ID), but once I hit my search button, no records are found. This field in my table is...

I have a form that is based on a table called CVA Defects Table. Three of the fields in the table and form are Oil line defects, Gas line defects, and Sub assembly defects. These fields use lookups into another table called "defects table". If I input from the CVA Defects Table everything works fine all the time. However when I input data from the form I have problems. The Oil & Gas line lookups work very well all the time in the form....

Hi there, I am working on a form that uses 3 text boxes and 3 combo boxes. When any data is entered into any of these, I click a command button and this requeries a sub query in the form and displays data dependent on what has been typed in. After having trouble with populating my second combo box (I eventually populated it by putting the fields for both combo boxes in 1 separate query) I am now having problems with the 3rd one and am...

Hello and thanks for any and all assistance! I have a database that is used by several users on several different machines. The backend database is housed on a file server. Each user has a front end on their local machine. The main form of the database has several query driven combo boxes. These queries pull data from the back end database to populate the combo boxes.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
