Packaging Wizard Help! High Priority

I am having issues with the packaging wizard in Access Developers
Edition XP. Here is the deal.
The program uses a system file. There are three total databases (front
end, common data, and user data). The front end is in a parent
directory with each of the otehr two in their own directory underneath
that. I am generating a run time distribution...

When I use the version of the program that does not use a custom system
file all goes well.

When I use the live version, I get an error when I point to the front
end (main file) that it is corrupt or otehrwise unusable. I cannot seem
to build the runtime package with the live version using the custom
system file.

So I decide to create it using the unprotected and then try to replace
the main MDB file with the live one by using the 'command to run after
installation' routine in the wizard. I cannot get this to work at all.
No matter what I put in the command to run afterwardsm, nothing happens.

Can anyone please help me here? I am at a major roll out of a program
and I am stuck like a sheep next to a lonely farmboy in West Virginia!

I've had some similar deployment problems as well.
I ended up writing a ms dos batch file to create the
folders that I wanted and to copy them where I wanted
as well as desktop and start menu shortcuts. Then installing
A2k2 runtime on it own. It going around your asshole to get
to your elbow, but it works.

What is the System file your database uses?
Do you mean an mdw file for security?

It's possible I might have found the problem of my previous post, but I'm really not sure. My XP Packaging wizard is adding COMCAT.DLL version 4.71. My development machine uses version 5.0 and the target machine uses version 5.0 as well. I'm not sure where the Packaging Wizard is getting this DLL, but does anyone know how I specify which version to use? Thanks!

I'm trying to create a "standalone" install package (without any of the dialog boxes that a standard setup package would have). I think I understand how to do it in VB6 (using PDCmdLn.exe); I have already researched this subject in the MSDN for VB6. Here is the problem: I'm trying to execute a batch file containing this command and I'm running into a couple of errors. Here is the contents of the batch file: ...

I have created a database that I need to deploy to users without Access installed on their computers. I bought Microsoft Office Developer's Edition so that I could package the database and use Access Run-Time to take care of this problem. When I use the Packaging Wizard to create a setup package, this packaged database doesn't work right. The database itself is linked to an excel spreadsheet which I have listed as a Dependency file. ...

I am trying to package up an Access XP application using the Packaging Wizard. This my first go at with my new Vista machine. Obviously no luck since I am here. At the point it wants to get and copy the Access Runtime files, the wizard prompts me for the Office CD, which I put in. It then proceeds to copy some files, but then throws the message "Error 70: Permission Denied". This is happening for the OSP.MSI file. I tried running the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
