Collecting information from Access Applications for Word

With multiple access applications running how do you reference a
particular field on a particular form in a particular application from
a Word Document.

The code below retrieves the information I want when only one access
application is running but I need to collect the information from
database : Schedule.mdb
form : frmDataentry
field : txtAppid
when multiple applications are running.

Sub getAppid()
Dim objAccess As Access.Applicat ion
Dim frmany As Access.Form
Dim docname As String

On Error GoTo Err_getAppid

Set objAccess = Access.Applicat ion
Set frmany = objAccess.Scree n.ActiveForm

docname = frmany!txtAppid
MsgBox "The APP ID is " & docname

Exit_getAppid:
Exit Sub

Err_getAppid:
MsgBox Err.Description
Resume Exit_getAppid
End Sub

I read an article by, by Mike Groh, in Access-VB-SQL Advisor Magazine, Week 37 that concerns me quite a bit on distributing Access Applications commercially. First I need to describe a "commercial version" of my application that I hope to distribute after completing all the beta testing: A. It was developed using MS AccessXP Pro (developers edition), B. It has a front end MyApplication.mdb and a MyAppBbackend_be.mde; the front end is...

I tried to do a usual access 2k to word 2k automation yet I get the error "Automation Error" "ClassFactory cannot supply requested class" when on late binding try...

I would like to print a report (or reports) from Access based on the Word document I have open. For instance, the Word doc I have open is called 10-789-65.doc. From Word, I would like to open Access, and print the reports for all records with 10-789-65 as the part number. I've never ventured into Access from Word only the other way around. Anyone know if this is possible? Thanks, Bill

I have set up a mail merge document in Word 2003 which gets its data from my Access 2000 database. I want to set up a button on a form that: 1. runs the query to provide the dat for the merge document in Word; 2. opens the document and runs the merge process for the new data. I have managed to write the code to perform step 1 ok, but I'm having trouble with step 2. It opens the word document fine but does not perform the mail merge of...

Hi, I'm facing the problem of analyzing a memory allocation dynamic and object creation dynamics of a very big C++ application with a goal of optimizing its performance and eventually also identifying memory leaks. The application in question is the Mozilla Web Browser. I also have had similar tasks before in the compiler construction area. And it is easy to come up with many more examples, where such kind of statistics can be very...

What methods do we have of collecting information about browsing history? We would like to see the last few links that a client followed, prior to entering our site. I thought $_SERVER object might have something like this, but I haven't found any details, yet. Thanks for your ideas. Phil

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
