Thanks in anticipation...
I have an .adp where I connect to an MSDE sql backend. A number of
networked PC's connect to this MSDE datasource. All PC's can see and
connect to the sql service. However, when I open the .adp, a number
of the computers rename all the stored procedures (Office 2000) with
an ";1" suffix i.e. Storedproc;1 - some PC's are quite ok - others
just rename the procedures rendering the file useless
I am at my wits end (and client also) to find the cause of this
anomaly.
Any help ????

Hi
Can any one tell me what is meant if access appends a ";1" to the names of
stored procedures?
Note, that the ";1" isn't already part of the name of the procedures
name as they exist in the database served from the MSDE2000 server, nor
does it become part of the name, but it is how they appear it the access
container window. Two different machines can browse the same database,
server from the same machine and each see a different...

I have a a headscratcher here:
I have a form that when submitted should do 2 things when a user enters
data and then clicks the Add button.
Here goes:
1. Call a stored procedure called AddCompany to insert the company name
from the Company Name textbox into the COMPANY table and return the
@@IDENTITY of the company name just input into the database back to a
label on the form. THIS IS WORKING.

I was messing around with the native ODBC module (I am using Python in
a Win32 environment), e.g:
import dbi, odbc
....and it seems to meet my needs. I'd rather use a module that comes
natively with Python if it works (don't care about performance in this
particular use case; just that it works).
The only issue I've had so far is retrieving data from Oracle when an

Hello,
what is the use-case of parameter "start" in string's "endswith"
method? Consider the following minimal example:
a = "testing"
suffix="ing"
a.endswith(suffix, 2)
Significance of "end" is obvious. But not so for "start".

Here is some code for the Soft Heap, taken directly from the original
paper on the subject with a little help from manish_gupta.
Unfortunately, it's about half as fast as a basic binary heap simply
because of memory allocation. In fact, my profiler says that 90% of
the time in this sucker is memory allocation. Can anybody devise a way
to cut down on the number of "news" in this? I need to insert a few
million elements and remove a tenth of...

Anyone:
I have a simple MSAccess DB which was created from an old ASCII flatfile.
It works fine except for something that just started happening. I'll enter
info in a record, save the record, and try to move to another record and get
an Access error "Record is too large". The record is only half filled, with
many empty fields. If I remove the added data or delete some older data,
then it saves ok and works fine again. Whenever I'm...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
