As the user will not have access to the database, i want them to be
able to click a button and open the create a new label, based on a
default report i will have saved in the database.
Can anyone direct me on how to open or start this mission

Perhaps I do not understand... a multiuser database should be split, with
each user having his/her own copy of the "front end" (queries, forms,
reports, macros, modules, and any local tables) attached to tables in the
"back end" (tables and relationships) stored in a shared folder.
The users cannot execute a report without having access to some database, or
importing the data as a mail list into Word, or some other approach. The
button that they click has to reside _somewhere_.
What, exactly, do you mean "a new label"? Do you mean one single lable, or a
label report that includes many labels?
Please clarify and perhaps someone can be of assistance.

Hello, I'm looking for assistance with the Access object model. I know
this is VB, but I'm building an Office Add-using C# directed at Access
2002. I'm literate in VB, so you can reply in VB... I think my problem
mainly lies in knowing the quirks of the Access object model.
Basically, I'm looking for a method of determining if an Access database
is open yet. AND I'm looking for a method that doesn't not require
checking for an...

At this moment I use MsAccess and i can build about every databound
application i want. Who knows about a serious open source alternative?
Because Windows will be a client platform for some time, i prefer a
solution that (also) supports Windows.
On the net I found a number of products that i looked at, but none of
them gave me the impression of a serious candidate at this moment
(KNoda, Gnome DB Manager, InterBase...).

Can't open my .mdb
I was experimenting with opening an access database in IIS. For
experimenting, I have an .mdb called HasbaraSample. In this case I copied it
to the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Access folder.
I had various problems trying to get it to open in IIS. I went to asp.net
forums and was told to right_click the app_data folder and click the security
tab.
To make a long story short, that never worked out.

The following problem started on my PC about a week ago and I can't
link it to any specific change. I'm using Access XP.
If I have any database open and try to open any other database by
double clicking its file in Explorer, it takes about 5 seconds to open.
Previously the second database would open almost instantaneously, as
one would expect on a reasonably fast machine.

I am using VB.Net 2003 and MS Access (connecting using OleDBConnection).
I read using DataAdapter and DataSet, not DataReader.
When many people try to access the database at the same time, I get the
error "ExecuteReader requires an open and available Connection. The
connection's current state is Open, Executing." I do not use ExecuteReader,
why the error says ExecuteReader. What does it mean ?
When I get this error, is there a way for me...

This is a new problem for me: I have some queries that open very
slowly in design view.
My benchmark query takes about 20 minutes to open in design view. That
same query takes about 20 minutes to open in datasheet view. As an
experiment, I deleted all rows in all tables; after that, the query
took only seconds to open in both design view and datasheet view. From
these facts, I conclude that Access is evaluating the query when I go
to...

Hi
I have an access database called Sales.Mdb
In vb.net 2005, I'd like to open it. Which I can do.
What I can't figure out is how to figure out if Sales.Mdb is open already.
If so, I want to open that instance.
Any ideas how I would do this?
Thanks

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
