Memo datatype got trucated

moe
HI
I am using MS Access 2000(runs on OS 2K) to do query on Oracle9i database.
If i use a simple query i will get all data that I query. However, if I do
multiple join tables (say join 8 tables from different databases) columns that
are of memo datatype are truncated ( the last portion of the data is
missing). Some people say not enough memory but my system is PIII and 256Mag
RAM.

Since the query uses link tables from Oracle I am unable to attached to this
email. Can you help.

NB
If you use SELECT DISTINCT Access will truncate the Memo field, or
even refuse to run the query (depending on the version of Access)

I'm not at work now and can't remember exactly how I solved this. But
try: remove the Memo field from the SELECT DISTINCT query A, then make
a new SELECT DISTINCT query point to that query A

HI,
You are correct its the SELECT DISTINCT that is causing the field to
truncate. Tks...
But not sure how to do "a new SELECT DISTINCT query point to that query
A "

Hi all, Is there a way to "cast" the text datatype fields in order to not be interpreted as Memo fields in some Delphi data-aware components? specifically DbGrids ? Should I tweak the ODBC driver config ? or it is something related to the client side programming tool? (delphi in this case). regards

Hi, I have an web app and I am using access 2002 and VB.net. I am using a data adapter to fill a dataset. I am retrieving product descriptions, some are long and i have used a field of memo datatype to save them in. The problem is sometimes I can only retrieve the first 255 characters in a memo field and other times I can retrieve the full product

Thanks for the very quick response posting that I can use a memo datatype to store large amounts of text. I understand that I can turn on "Can Grow" for a memo type, but is there either a property or VB code that will allow the text box to expand vertically as the user adds lines, so that it isn't necessary to use the vertical scroll bar to view text above/below the displayed window? I'm looking for a sort of dynamic autosize.

Hi, I'm currently using MS Access 2000 to keep all my actors measurements, resumes and personal details on a database. To upload their details onto our website, I have built an event so when I run the query, only certain data is selected and exported onto a separate database that I can easily upload onto our ftp server. It has been working fine for all year until the past few weeks I have run into some problems. Initially when I...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
