view result differs from the result in SQL Server

Hello,

I have made a view in SQL Server, that consists of a join with another
view and a table. That other view
In Access, I have linked the view as a linked table. When I view the
result there, the result is not the same as in SQL Server. The problem
is that in some cases one of the joins returns two exact the same
records in stead of two different ones.

An now, the really weird part is, that when I set the Recordsource
property of the form to a select statement from the view, the form
returns the correct records, although when I run the select statement
in the Recordsource property as a query, again the wrong results are
returned.

Is there anybody who has a clue of what can be the problem here?

Thanks in advance,
Sandra

Sandra,

When you link your view, make sure you correctly identify the fields
constituting uniqueness.

It sounds like, when linking the view, when you were asked to indicate which
fields uniquely identify a row, you gave a combination of fields that does not
completely define a unique row in the view output.

Could someone help me by answering the questions below? What's a cursor? What's difference between Query and View? Is a RecordSet just part of a table? Can it be part of a query of view? If the content in a table changed, is it necessary for a old recordset to renew itself by do "Requery()"? Thanks for your help!

Hi, I've run into a curious problem with MS SQL Server 8.0. Using sp_help and SQL Query Analyzer's object browser to view the columns returned by a view, I find that sp_help is reporting stale information. In a recent schema change, for example, someone lengthened a varchar column from 15 to 50 characters. If we use sp_help to find out...

We have a partitioned view with 4 underlying tables. The view and each of the underlying tables are in seperate databases on the same server. Inserts and deletes on the view work fine. We then add insert and delete triggers to each of the underlying tables. The triggers modify a different set of tables in the same database as the view...

I have the view below and if I use vwRouteReference as the rowsource for a combo box in an MS Access form or run "SELECT * FROM vwRouteReference" in SQL Query Analyzer, the rows don't come through sorted by Numb. Everything I've read on the web suggests that including the TOP directive should enable ORDERY BY in views. Does someone have an...

I've been given a task that I believe is, basically, impossible, but I'd like to see if there's a way to do it. What my boss wants me to do is to create a view, in SQL Server 2000, that will provide not only a row number field of some sort, but that will produce sequential ordering for arbitrary selects and orderings. So, if my data is a...
