Error creating data access pages

Hi all

I'm pulling my hair out over this particular problem and I'm wondering
whether you clever people can help.

I'm running the demo version of Access 2003, which I understand to be a
complete version, albeit with a 30-day cut-off. I've got plenty of time
left in the demo period and I'm using it to put together a training
manual for Access 2003.

So far so good ... until it comes to Data Access Pages. Whenever I try
to open an existing Page in design view , or create a new Page in design
view I get the following error:

"The OLE server isn't registered. To register the OLE server, reinstall it."

If I use the wizard then Access goes through the motions and then comes
up with an error saying that the "wizard is unable to create your data
access page." These errors occur whether I try to use a Page in an older
database, or create a brand new database in Access 2003 upon which to
base the page.

Before installing the demo I was running off the Beta 2 release and
experienced the exact same problem.

Which is the OLE server control? And where should I be able to find it?

Can anyone help? I've got a deadline to meet and I'm totally beaten by
this one!

Thanks

Mark

For some reason I am getting an error when trying to open a recordset on an Access database on my Win2K3 machine from my INDEX.ASP page, but the same code accesses the database fine when coming from the GLOBAL.ASA page. I'm using a DSN to connect to the database. The error I'm getting is: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' Data source name not found and no default driver specified /index.asp, line 14

This question crosses between this group and IIS, so I have included both. I'm referencing a MSFT document: Creating Custom ASP Error Pages: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;224070 It references 500. I'm currently working with 404. This is on a hosted site so I have limited capabilities but can probably get the host to make changes to areas that I do not have access to so I'm not

Hi: I need to create some operational HTML pages (for data capture), which will create data on a database on a server. I will then download the entered data and use it in a system locally. These are time sheets that will be filled in by a traveling band of consultants! My problem is that I want to use Access as the basic tool, and check the data on line against some files that I will up load to the server. The problem is that I can ...

Hi, this is probably an old question, and I have had no luck finding answers to this one on the internet that has helped me out. I installed VS .NET 2003, then I installed IIS 5.1 after that. I had problems getting .aspx pages displayed so I ran: c:\winnt\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis.exe -i regsvr32 c:\winnt\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_isapi.dll After a reboot I could see my .aspx pages loading with...

I have a problem that involves the error I receive when attempting to complete the asp.net web application example (Walkthrough: Creating a Web Application Using a Third-Party Business Object). When I first create the SQL connection in VS.NET 2003, I test the connection and everything works fine. However, when I attempt to run the first stage of the app (the bound datagrid), I receive an error stating: login failed for user...

I am developing an ASP.NET application that uses Access 2000 as its backend, and have just started getting the following error on 2 ASP.NET pages that had been working until late last week (and I don't think I made any changes to either page other than changing the user control that creates the header). Server Error in '/myApp' Application. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----

Ok, here is the issue: I have 2 web pages one does a file upload to a database and the other page does a FTP to a server, both pages use the c:\temp directory. The page that uploads to a database works fine, the page that FTP's the files returns me an error (Access denied filename.txt) Now the asp.net ID has full control of the c:\temp directory. The only difference in the 2 pages is that page 2 creates a text file writes data to it then...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
