I have a problem. I recently uninstalled office 97 and re-installed it.
When I went to open Access up, it would only open in RUntime mode. I
uninstalled all runtime software from my computer, still only opened in
runtime mode. So, I uninstalled office again, and re-installed it and STILL
it's only opening in runtime mode. I checked the command line and there is
no runtime switch in the command line. I looked through the registry
entries to see if there was anything that looked odd, but didn't see
anything (and didn't really know what I was looking for specifically). Does
anyone have any idea what I might try to get Access operating again? Thanks

Has the machine ever had a newer version of Office installed? I have
seen the Office 2K small business edition cause this problem because
it installs the Access 2K runtime. Uninstalling Office 97 and
reinstalling leaves the Access 2K runtime intact. After uninstalling
Office 97, try searching your hard drive for msaccess.exe. If it is
still there, check its version to investigate. HTH

Thanks Rick,
I didn't think I had installed anything but Access97 on the machine, but
come to think of it, I may have installed an A2K runtime program on it a
while back. I'll review it again in the morning, and hopefully, that will
resolve my problem. Will let you know.
