Switchboard Headings

Hi:

I know there are mixed views about the switchboard function, but i would like to consider
using it anyway. One snag I have found is that you create a Main Switchboard, and put some
headings in it, then insert some switching lines some of which go to lower level boards.
The lower level boards pu\ick up the same headings as the main board! I would like to have
headings such as:
Main menu
Client Menu
Associates Menu
Report Menu
etc.

How do you change headings in lower level switchboards?

Regards

In Switchboard Design View use the FIELDS drop-down and select Name. As the
switchboard goes from menu to sub-menu, that name is shown. I use this at
the top of the switchboard so that I can see where I am (I have 2 databases
merged - almost identical switchboards/sub-menus and I need to know where I
am!!)

Here is the application. Its a simple application really. I have a db created in Access 2000 which opens to a switchboard created by the switchboard manager. Now the problem. This only works on some computers. I installed access 2000 on two brand new, out of the box, computers and on one it gives me a run time error and the other it doesn't. Both computers are running windows XP. Though the operating system doesn't seem to be the...

I have created a switchboard, created using Access 2000. If I put the mouse anywhere on the form, outside of the checkboxes and scroll the wheel backwards, I get the following error. Run-Time Error '-2147217900(8004e14)': Syntax Error (missing operator) in query expression in '>0 and =' I know that the Switchboard probably doesn't cater for this event but sometimes you can't help twiddling the wheel can you?

I did some customizing on my switchboard (changing colors and adding graphics) to make it more appealing. I tried to add another item, and it told me that 8 was the limit. Fine. I deleted one item so that I could add another switchboard. I have done this several times in the past, but it will not open the new switchboard. The button just goes in and out and that is it. So, I decided to create a new switchboard and scrap the old one...

I have a query that I'd like to add to my switchboard, but when I use the switchboard manager I only get the option to run a report, a macro or open a form. Is there a way to add a query without making it a macro?

I am trying to create a Switchboard using the Switchboard Manager in MS Access 2000. I have managed to get the table created for the switchboard, however it hasn't actually created the form. Hopefully I will have a main switchboard which will in turn lead to three sub switchboards. Can anybody tell me how to get the form automatically created from the Switchboard Table if at all possible?

Hi all, I mistakenly deleted my switchboard on the Object Forms view. I recreated it again with the database utility, but the switchboard isn't showing up in the forms view. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Jim Lee

I have recently inherited a database. The switchboard (and other forms) displays the name of the database on it (top, center). Currently the name that appears is Reviews. There are plans to roll out the application (i.e. making copies of the database) to other locations (Reviews-NY, Review-Dallas etc). If was mentioned today in passing by the original developer that there is a way to change the title that appears on the switchboard without...

In Acc2003, I have a situation in which I have a main switchboard and upon pressing one of its buttons , takes the user to another sub hierarchical switchboard. Pressing one of these buttons could take the user to another switchboard or to forms within the topical heading of the switchboard. What I would like to see is a "Screen Tip" type feature in which when the mouse cursor is 'rested' upon a particular Switchboard button, the 'top...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
