Replacing form with subform with tabbed form

I have a form with a subform whose record sources are two different queries.
I want to see if I can replace this with a form with two tabs, putting the
form results from the first query on the first tab and the subform results
from the second query on the second tab. I don't see how I can do this, as
neither the tab nor the pages of the tab have a separate record source
property. But, an Access book I'm reading seems to suggest that this can be
done. Can anyone help me with this?

Please e-mail me at ne******@svpal. org with any responses. Thank you!

Surely you can... by putting subforms on the tab pages, so you will not have
eliminated your subforms, you'll just have gained a little additional
complexity by adding a tab control.

Or, you can do it with an unbound form and controls.(But _I_ wouldn't.)

Before I get started with the question, does anyone have a (single) good book recommendation for database design? Not an Access-specific book, but something geared toward helping me figure out *what the user wants*. I've had brief formal education about data flow diagramming, but I'm looking for ... more, now that I'm actually running into problems I think stem from the fact that my users can't explain what they need done, compounded by...

It's a form, with (so far) 4 tab pages on it, each of which holds 2/3/4 subforms. (I like tabbed forms by the way - do we all?) Basically the subforms are different ways of looking at the data. It's the orchestral management thing still. So tab 1 looks at each musician, the events they're booked onto, which jobs they're doing etc.

Hi, in the NorthWind sample database, when clicking on the next navigation button on the new order record with nothing on the subform (order details), we got an order with nothing ordered. How can we prevent this from happening? Thanks. ming

I'm fairly new to Access and need help with form/subform. I've seen another access database in which a main form allowed the user to enter school class specific information shuch as start date, title and class size. Once they tabbed out of the class size box, a subform appeared to allow input of student data. For example, if class size of 4 was entered, subform would appear with four data input lines, one for each student. I can generate...

I have a question concerning the need to trigger events within a "child" subform which is itself enbedded within a master "parent" form and which is accessible via a tab in the parent form. Becuase this is all very difficult to explain in words, please bear with me as I endevour to explain what it is I am trying to do. It would be helpful if I could attach a graphics file to this posting that would help explain what it is I'm trying to achieve...

Forgive me if this is a foolish question. I "play" in Access and have only created a few rather simple relational databases. My knowledge and experience is limited. I have no formal training, just picked up a few books and have gone from there... I'm not sure how to relate my question using the accepted shorthand, so I'm afraid this will be a narrative description. I am using Access 2003. The database is for property management. I have...

Hi At the risk of showing my ignorance I wondering if anyone can advise me how best to update records behind a form. Here's the problem I am using Access 2002 and have a single form bound to a query. The form has 3 tabbed sections, if I make changes to a text box in one tabbed section and move to another tabbed section and then close the form, I lose the changes. I can get around this by moving to the next record and then moving back...

Hi I have a main form and want to put two subforms on a tabbed control (on the same tab) Subform 1 will display data if it corresponds with the data on the main form. When this is true, subform 2 will be blank Likewise, subform 2 will display data if it corresponds with the data on the main form and when this is true, subform1 will be blank. How can I make the subforms visible only when there is data present?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
