I am extending an existing Access/VBA app and need to update a subform
displayed in continuous view within a containing form. The existing
form and subform have worked fine to date with the subform's
RecordSource set to an underlying DB table.
To extend the existing app, I need to add controls to the subform and
set their Text values etcetera at runtime. (Clearly if a single
RecordSource would do the trick, I would extend the...

If I create 2 or more records in my subform and I then delete the main
record, then all the controls on my subform disappear.
Yet if there is only one record in the subform then it gets deleted ok and
the controls are still there ready to await further input.
Further info;
Cascading Deletes are on.
The subform Cycle property is set to Current Record.

Hi to all,
I am displaying a list of records in a subform which is embedded in a
popup main form (in order to ensure that users close the form when
leaving it).
It seems to be impossible to delete a record in this subform.
When I switched modal off and tried to delete a record from the list,
I deleted a record on another form (below the popup form).

Is there another way to delete the current record in a subform from the main
form, another subform or a sub-subform other than setting focus on a field
in the subform and using run command acCmdDelete Record?
Thanks!

Hi,
I have a form which contains a number of subforms in different pages of a
tab control. In the detail section of each subform, I list records related
to the main form record, but from different tables. In the footer section
of the subform I have a Notes text box and three buttons (Add, Update,
Delete). The latter each open a separate form for updating or deleting the
subform data (the records cannot be updated or deleted directly...

Can a vb.net form contain a subform? If yes, how is this done?
Maybe I am going about my issue the wrong way. I start an asynchronous
procedure from my main form - invoke a routine on a mainframe computer. Then
I am polling every 10 seconds (timer1) to see if the external program has
generated a data result set for my form to retrieve. In the meantime, on the
same main form I have a series a little labels that blink on/off in a series...

Hello
i have made a custom control. i have placed a panel on it. I want this
panel to behave just like the normal panel. The problem i was having is
that the panel on my custom control doesnt accept other controls. The
control i drag drop on it becomes the child of my custom control's
parent form and not the child of my custom control. Then i added this
line
""
before my custom control class (i dont know what this line does). Now

I'm using Access 2003 on a Windows XP O/S.
I've made two copies of Form1 so that there're are 3 forms:
1) Form1
2) Form2
3) Form3
Essentially, they all write to the same Table1.

I am desperately needing some help with a calendar in my database. I have a
subform that I have created and needed to add a calendar so that our
Superintendents could pick a date instead of typing it. I want the calendar
to disappear after entering the date but when I enter the second part of the
equation, I can't enter a date at all. But if I leave the first part of the
code the calendar won't disappear after entering the date. Can...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
