Hello,
Is there a simple way to check whether a database driver is available
on a remote server? I only have ftp access so I can only run ASP
scripts.
An ASP application on a host has died again.

OK, I had a problem that I've now fixed but I can't really understand
what was causing it in the first place. I have an intranet site that
uses basic authentication to allow users to view and update information
from an Oracle DB (ver 8.1.6 -- ancient, I know). Anyway, the site
worked fine as long as the machine accessing the ASP page was...

Hello, I would like to access a UDB database on a Sun Solaris 5.8.
The client is a XP station.
When I list the default odbc drivers, I found "Microsoft ODBC Driver for DB2".
But I think it can not be used to access a UDB DB on Unix machine.
So where can I find a ODBC driver ?
Thank you

In an Access97 application I fetch data from an Oracle database via a
linked table (via Odbc/sqlnet). The Oracle database now upgrades from
7.3 to 8.0. The Oracle odbc driver I use (2.0.3.1, supplied with 7.3)
always worked fine on all Nt4 workstations. Now with the 8.0 db an
odbc error occurs when the db is contacted: {ODBC Oracle...

Shocks. Today I came to learn that Suns jdbc-odbc bridge driver isn't
meant for serious purposes; it's experimental. I already knew it isn't
thread safe, but didn't think of this as problematic for the relatively
simple system I'm using it. However, I suspect there are other issues.
Currently I'm stuck with a query which takes less than one...

Hi
I'm running Windows 2000 and Office 2003. I want to copy tables from an
unknown database format into Access 2.0 and I could do it quite easily
if it weren't for the fact that recent ODBC-drivers aren't capable of
writing into an Access 2.0 database (only reading). I do have the old
Access 2.0 disks including odbc-driver, but it doesn't...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
