Is there a way for me to know if or which command button was just clicked that triggers the LostFocus event for the current control on a Form? I have a form that has many types of users who each have their own set of fields they can change. Therefore I use setfocus property in the lostfocus event for some of the users to get from one control to another. Since I am "directing traffic" with setfocus, the users are unable to use the...

Hello I have an application in MS Access 2000. I have a form, which includes a subform. The subform is based on a table, but locked for any editing. There is Edit button. When clicked, it starts a separate unbound form with all the fields, which are on the subform. The fields are filled in with data programmatically. User edits. Edited fields are copied into fields on the subform programmatically as well. I need to catch change in one of...

I have a main form with navigation buttons on it and a label showing for example Record 1 of 15 using recordsetclone on it and eveything works fine. When I move through the records the record number changes fine. Within this main form I have a subform detailing distribution records for the contact (main form is based on this) that also has navigation buttons and a label showing Distribution 1 of ##. This is where the problem lies. The...

Greetings. I have a Mainform with a subform. The Mainform has single record format and subform has continuous form format. When the Mainform opens, I force allowadditions and allowedits to FALSE (for both the Mainform and Subform). No problem there. However, when I click on the navigation control of the subform to move to the next record in the subform, the AllowAdditions and AllowEdits changes to TRUE. Not good. I set...

Hi I need to block user from moving away from a record using any of First/Last/Prev/Next/New Record or any other way IF the record has not been saved, and displaying a message to the effect "Please finish editing". If however the user has explicitly saved the record using save from the access menu then allow to move from record. How do I achieve this via code? Thanks

I am designing an Access database that will use tab controls. Normally, you place different sets of fields on each page of the tab control – like Fields1-3 on Page 1, Fields 4-6 on Page 2, etc. In my database, however, I want to associate a particular numbered record of a field with each separate tab. In exploring my options, it looks like the best way to do this is to add a record-navigating “On Click” event to each separate page of the...

Hello and TIA for your consideration. I have created several db's for a non-profit and they want custom navigation buttons to display "You are on the first record, last record, etc". With this ng help I've created code for all except the add new record command button. If I create individual sub functions behind each form, no problem. The problem is I am trying to create a re-usable module.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
