Automation to 2 Word Documents

I am trying to send information to 2 different MS Word 2000 documents from
automation code in Access 2000. I have simply added an extra transfer text
command and an extra line to open the document with the data text file for
the merge data. What is happening is that only the 2nd of the two letters
is opened. Why doesn't the first one open? Is there a way of having two
(almost) simultaneous Word documents opened from within a module in Access?

The only way I know to do this is to have 2 separate Word Objects.

Set objWord1 = CreateObject("W ord.Application ")
Set objWord2 = CreateObject("W ord.Application ")

I have a strange situation with my Access 2000 database. I have code in the database which has worked fine for years, and now all of a sudden doesn't work fine on one or two of my client's machines. The code opens MS Word through Automation and then opens a particular Word doc. It's still working fine on most machines; but on one or two of them, the user is getting an Automation Error. The code used is as follows: Dim objWord As...

Has anyone had any problems with inter-office automation between MS Word and MS Access in Office 2003? I have recently installed office 2003 in a new folder and have left the older office 2000 and office XP components installed. ie I have word/access/excel 2k/xp/2003 installed. I tried to do a usual access 2k to word 2k automation yet I get the error "Automation Error" "ClassFactory cannot supply requested class" when on late binding try...

Hi, We have some code that uses automation to create/manipulate word documents. This runs in a batch mode, generating dozens of documents in sequence. The code works great, but while the automation code is working in word, care must be taken not to "interrupt" it with a keystroke or mouse-click, otherwise the current selection gets put somewhere its not supposed to be, and subsequent code will fail. This means that while it is running,...

I have created a program that allows for the automation of things in Word documents, like changing the values of DocVariables and the links to Excel Sheets. I did it using interoperoperatability, where I declare objects as follows: Dim oWordApp As New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Application, after adding a reference to Microsoft.Office.Core and a reference to Microsoft Word. I could do this since I have the Primary Interop...

Hope you can help. I have created a mail merge word doc which seems to work fine. When I close and reload it asks if I wish to pull in the data. Great. However, I want to print the results of the mail merge from within a VB.Net app. I can create and load the word app/doc, but the document is not opened as a mail merge doc. In fact the mail merge fields just appear as text. Any ideas please, or alternative was to do this.

Hello, I'm developing an intranet (win XP, .NET 2, Visual Studio 2005, Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.dll in references) and needed to implement find-replace in word doc before sending letter and it worked fine on my station. I've go it fine on my station, and it doesn't work at all on the web server. 1. What should be the configuration of the server? There is .net SDK 2 and I've installed the oxppia.exe there. And changed the...

Hi everyone, I have a weird problem with some Word/Excel automation code that I run from Access (not sure if I should therefore post this in the Access forum..? Thought I'd try here first) Basically, the code either opens a document (if it exists) or creates it from a template if it doesn't. Docs can be Word or Excel docs. The weird part is that the code was working earlier tonight. But now it's not, not properly, anyway. Now, what...

I have tried a server-side automation and it's giving me problems that I couldn't solve.. Now, I'm switching to client side automation and I was following this example: http://www.aspnetpro.com/NewsletterArticle/2003/09/asp200309so_l/asp200309so_l.asp but to get it working I had to "Go to the Security tab, select Local intranet, and click on the Custom Level button. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
